Aussie Muscle Car Museum - Cars In Barns

Cool stuff right out of Mad Max (sort of).

"Hi Steve, this collection of Aussie Muscle Cars is in Queensland. I visited there last year and drooled as the owner showed me around. Holdens, Falcons, and more. I think he has just about one of every muscle car model sold in Australia."

That is really neat.....probably some offseason storeage arrangement though, the cars are all clean and looking great.

I see numerous Holden Monaros, a Falcon GT (ever hear of the superiority of the legendary Australian block 351 Cleveland?), plus a Hemi head inline six in a Chrysler Charger. I love those early Capris with the composite headlights. What is hidden under the shaker scoop of the Grabber Blue Capri? In the smogger 1970s Australia hadn't begun with the draconian measures of North America and they had a heyday. Strong blocks that were developed in the U.S. continued to evolve in the musclecar-friendly Australian market. I also see an inline six Holden, really a small bore, short stroke Chevy six with sporty manifolding & carburation.

I have traveled to many places in the world. In my travels I have found the Australians & New Zealanders to consistently be the most fun to be around. They also can relate to Canadians well.

That vintage of Australian Ford, GM and Chrysler products are all very appealing and interesting cars. Nice collection.

Also looks like there's a Ford Escort RS2000 and a Chrysler Centura - probably with the big Hemi-6. I'd love to know where this barn is, so I can go for a squiz

"Squiz" = a quick but thorough look.

Thanks for the info. Not in my neighbourhood. I'll have to plan a holiday up that way soon.
