O.k. I was wondering about timing. I looked at the indicator on the block and it looks like this -- -- ----A -- -- -- ----O -- -- My first question is how do you know how to set the timing ie: 8 degree's BTDC my second Question is what is the base timing on a 283 2 barrel? Thanks in advance

I like to cruise around 60mph but tach is running around 2600rpm, at 50mph tach is 2200rpm, if I went to a 3:36 how much rpms could I drop at 60mph? I need to find the exhaust bits (collectors?) that go from the original rams horn manifolds which I think are 2 3/4 from bolt to bolt so i can weld up the rest of the exhaust again. I tried crappy tire but dident find them yet. Any local suggestions? Or should i just go to a muffler shop and ask them.

I have a 500 Eldebrock 4 barrel carb on my 305, its running to rich and I thought I would adjust the carb pump to see if that helps before changing the jets. I carb pump adjustment rod has three holes for adjustment, which hole would make it run leaner, the bottom or the top hole. thanks
