Front end alignment specs, 67 big car?
(Preview)
I'll be taking my car in for an alignment after the front end rebuild. A shop right down the street will do an old school alignment to what I'd like. I know I really shouldn't pay any heed to the old Bias Ply specs. According to most current wisdom I've read, big fat radial tires, and a need to have the car...

Rear suspension bushings. 67 big car?
(Preview)
Does the 67 rear suspension actually have a smaller front lower bushing than the rear lower and uppers? I've often heard conflicting talk in the past on this. Anyone have any numbers for the parts? I'm planning on a rear suspension rebuild. New OEM bushings. F40 Springs Flex line. Adjustable panh...

Ball joint, tie rod separator...
(Preview)
Wandering around Princess Auto the other day I found this joint separator on sale. I think $18 or so, so I thought "what the heck", I'm pulling the front end apart, so I'll give it a go. It works absolutely fantastic!!! In all the front ends I've beat to get the joint apart I should have had one...

1967 Grand Parisienne front springs.
(Preview)
Been doing some poking around, trying to figure out the best spring that would be suitable for my GP. The stock front springs give the car a nice stance...but only when sitting still. Driving the car with passengers it just totaly sags. I'm attempting to actually get the car to handle decently, and no...

I'm going to start my front end rebuild on the 67 in a couple of weeks. Phase I will be new rubber bushings and ball joints. I'm lucky, I had a spare set of arms that I was able to blast, paint and add new bushings (oem) and ball joints. So it'll save a little time in doing the job. I'll replace the strut rod bush...

Heater Core Question
(Preview)
I have a leaky heater core. There is a slight leak inside the car (carpet's wet). Can I disconnect the hoses, block them off (or should I join them, so the system still circulates?), and still drive it until I get the core leak fixed?

Painting Rallys. What paint?
(Preview)
Bought the nice set +1 of 15x7's Velle Addict (Gary) had for sale here. Thanks Gary, nice to meet you!. They're for the 67, as my x8's with 255's rub in the back on the skirt latch. My hope is to fit the 255's onto to x7's to cure the rub. I'm hoping to touch them up a bit, and I love the argent silver tone th...

Level ride - to be or not to be
(Preview)
I recently modified the old 3 link set up on the rear to a 4 link adjustable, c/w new bushings and springs. Everything is now square within 1mm but before this, the car leaned to the driver's side and afterward still leans about the same. Is out by about 1/2 to 3/4". Any suggestions on getting it...

B-body disc brake question
(Preview)
This question is related to my 68 Caprice but it applies to all 65-70 Canadian B-bodies so here goes. When I bought the Caprice, it had drums on the front, although the car had a disk brake pedal pad. When I investigated I found that the drums and spindles had junkyard markings on them. I figure the ori...

Dropped the gas tank...
(Preview)
Pulled the gas tank on the 2+2 last night. I found 40 years of crap in the tank along with the original sending unit. This explains why there were 2 in-line fuel filters that plugged up quickly! I will be changing the main fuel line too. Plugged in the new sending unit...gas gauge works now. The tank...

Got the rear stabilizer bar on!

Nice day, had the spacers and bolts, so I went and stole the Spohn Performance bar from my project chassis and installed it. Aftermarket look, and I'll put the stock one on when I hook up and get it from 427Carl. Big difference, but now I can really feel the sloppy front bushings and smaller front bar. S...
