Some old photos of my Laurentian

I was very fortunate to get a number of items with my Laurentian including the owners manual, folder, protect-o-plate, and best of all copies of old photos of the car taken before, during and after it's 1978 restoration. I finally had a chance to scan them today so now I can share some of them:
From what I understand, these photos were taken sometime in the early 1970's prior to restoration. Dig those wheels and wide whitewall tires!

Starting in Jan 1978, the car was stripped to bare metal. The glass, bumpers, all trim,  interior and vinyl top were removed as well:

The front clip was also removed:

I'll skip the boring primer shots and cut to the lacquer:

At first I thought this was the vinyl top peaking out from under the masking paper. I thought it strange to put the top on prior to paint. Now I believe it was a type of rustproofing. This stuff was sprayed behind the fenders and on the cowl..

Here it is almost fully assembled (notice the lack of door handles). I wonder where those rims went!

Finally, here is how she looked when taken out in 1985. The car apparently only came out 3 times that year (and not since 1978). After that it went into hibernation until 2007. Looks like it was easy to smoke those bias plys!

Having photo's like these make it all the more gratifying having this car!
I hope you guys enjoyed seeing them.
