My old 66 427 4 speed

Some of you may remember this magazine article way back when. At that time, I strictly guessed this was my old car, and that it had ended up in Ottawa after I sold it to Edmonton. Only in January did I finally confirm that is really is my car in this article. To repect the current owners wishes, I have blocked his name that appeared in the article. Funny thing is, it's a father and son and they mixed up the names anyway so I would never have found them by using those names anyway.

I remember that article. I also remember the ads in the Old Car Trader from AB . It was one of those I would have tried to buy if it wasn't 4000 miles away. Beautiful car.

Nope, my wife plays organ at church. We sold it to buy a church organ, but not for the church. It's in our living room!

And I have no regrets. For her, I'd sell every car I own today if necessary.

Carl, that has to be one of the nicest things I read this year. You know we have a very dear palce in our heart.gif for the church organists, our Sharon taught our kids how to play piano, Jr. went as far a grade 8. smile

Our daughter is 11, and cruising along in piano. Our son is 13 and he took a couple of years of piano, and a couple of guitar, but I'm afraid he has very little natural musical talent. However, he still has a lot more than me, even at that...

I LOVE organ music!

Yes it is a blessing to see, that most of us, would trade any of our hobbies, when the family need comes up...  Most of my toys were always sold, as family needs came up.. My daughter plays piano for the local Christian Reformed Church.. Her piano is upstairs, and my 69 El Camino is long gone!.. It was sold in 1976, for $1600.00 to pay for the piano!  She sat down, and started playing at age 5, and still can't read music , but can play any thing, you can hum...I wonder if I can trade the piano ,(now) for a El Camino?  lol     Once again Carl1  Bravo for having your priorities in order...biggrin

I sure doubt I could trade the organ for a 427 4 speed Pontiac today!!!

It's still only a car. Sure I would love to have it back, but 20 years of being happily married far outweighs that. She didn't make me sell it either. I had the final say. Same with the Grand National, and the 70 GS convert, and the 427 automatic 66 Grande Parisienne, and the red 66 Nova SS 327 4 speed, and so on and so on and so on..............!

You had a 70 GS rag? Looks like we have another closet Buick fan! I'd take a black on back 70 Stage 1 4 speed thank you..

Todd

Your car was in Winnipeg years ago, just down the street from a friend of mine who had a 70 GS 455 hardtop. He showed me the car, and I went by it often just to gaze. The car was up for sale years ago, and I missed it. I have no idea where it is now, but it was black on black, Stage 1 4 speed convert. I once read how many cars like that were made, and I forget the number but it was very low.

Still a Pontiac guy at heart, I really like the 64-67 and 70-72 Skylarks too. And Chevelles, and Cutlasses, and B bodys, and....................., well, you get it, pretty much any GM 60's, 70's!!!

Hey Carl

I think the 70 GS rag might be owned by the guy who bought Jerry's 65 GTO convertible-I know he has one in the barn.He doesn't sell anything, and I don't think he has ever finished a car to my knowledge.

There used to be a black on black 72 Stage 1 near my house when I was a teen- Had the N25 rear bumper etc. The owner was rumoured to be a drug dealer. The car went from mint to junk in about 3 years...
My very first car at 16 was a 70 Skylark Custom that I made a GS clone out of. I'll have to scan some pics

I didn't think that car is a Stage 1 car. I have never taken a close look at it though.

Is that right? I struck out trying that way. I googled his name, but he intentionally has it mixed up in the magazine I believe. He kept asking me "How did you get my number!!!"
