Great. I'll be there. I just talked to a graphic artist (the last one fell through) and I am going to meet with her and have a logo designed. It may not be ready for Ancaster however.

That sound great!   better to wait, and have it done as you want it, rather than rushed..  Do you have anyone wanting to sponser the "logo" or "website" yet?   Are there any members, with concrete contacts, who can sponser the gravel area at the Cdn Poncho headquarters yet????biggrin  Carl2

Sounds great Brad, I will look for you.  Any idea of whether you will be on the track or on the infield?  At a minimum, put up a Canadian Ponchos Welcomed Here sign! biggrin

Assuming we all find Brad at some point in the morning, why don't we set a time to all meet up at his spot, say high noon?

The difference is like night and day.  Next to Barrie, I would say this is the biggest swap meet in Southern Ontario.  It usually takes me about 4 hours to get through it all, and I don't dawdle.  Many good finds there, including a mint dash pad for my Elky ( 70 SS 396 4 spd) wheels, sheet metal, etc.  This is one swap meet I always bring a hand cart to. ;)

Normally I am on the track. I get there pretty early to try and get a good spot. I drive a black 4 door 2500 Silverado with a cap. I will be there all day so noon works for me.

I find this swap meet has a lot more parts for the years I am working on. 60's to mid 70's.

Thank you.

Just got back. Carl- I sent you a PM with a link to pics of the Strato Chief. I was feeling cheap and didn't buy anything. Brad, I couldn't find your table! Where were you? There was a lot of high priced junk in the car corral with a slight few exceptions. I didn't see much related to our cars other than a very wavy 69 Parisienne convertible.

I thought the Strato Chief was pretty good and for a Canadian car very solid. The interior was nice. I think I saw you snapping photos Todd but by the time we got accross the infield we could not see you anymore. If you had your son with you I am sure it was you. I would agree on the prices there in general very high, makes that 70 Safari look like a steal.

Ah so close! Yes it was me snapping photos. I've seen worse but the owner confessed to some frame issues. Did you guys buy anything? That 68 Chevelle ragtop was a nice car. I talked to the owner last fall when it first was up for sale. It was in storage so I couldn't see it. Looks like someone got a deal (I think he wanted high teens for it). He said he sold it first thing this morning.

Brad's truck was on the track about a 100 feet south east of the 66 Strato Chief.  He and I met up, it was nice to meet another Canadian Ponchoite!  Too bad the rest of you didn't drop by.

That is the same Strato Chief that has been floating around for sale in Southern Ontario for about the last two years.  I looked at it last fall or the fall before.  Once you get up close, it is pretty tough, there is a lot of mud and fiberglass in it.  Brad and I agreed, it is about a $2,500 car, not a $6,000 car and I certainly would not be using it as a shell for a project car.

What's with the Acadian? That is a 65 Sport Deluxe interior, but that is sure not 65 Acadian on the outside.

I enlarged the GM Canada Document maybe that will help. As far as price I think $18,500 but don't hold me to that.

The Acadian was $24,500. I checked out the Strato Chief but saw Todd taking pictures so I didn't bother.
Todd, I did see you. I went the other way. Just kidding.
The crowd was big but not many buyers so I helped out on that end. I did find a few deals on some wheels, some Hurst shifter parts and Holley parts.
I did pick up 4 sales brochures. 67 Beaumont, 64, 67 and 68 Full Size Pontiac. If anyone needs the Pontiac brochures let me know. They are in really good condition and came from a dealership in Port Hope.

I was in Ancaster with my brother. We had picked up a 1947 Plymouth coupe for our father and we parked in the cars for sale area. The Plymouth was not for sale but we had a lot of comments on the car.I bought an Edelbrock Performer intake for $40.00 a Torquer intake for $30.00 and a new set of moroso valve covers and gaskets for my 1969 Grand Prix 428 for $40.00.The guy I bought the covers from had an early 80's Lemans stationwagon that he installed a 455 engine in and it looked like a factory installation. I liked the more relaxed atmosphere and resonably priced entry fees at Ancaster. If we go again I'll make sure to get there around 7am as most vendors were packing up starting around 2pm. I looked at the 66 post car and thought it was rough. All the sheetmetal seems in the trunk had at least one inch of rot on both sides. There was one area where the seam sealer was missing and the rust was very visible where the lip of the sheetmetal should have been.
