Not to take away from the point of your post. That would be cool if that is actually his car. I always liked Buddy's music, even though I was born just a touch late.  Anyway...................

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Clements at Chevycraft (his wrecking yard) in 1981 I think it was. We drove non-stop from here to Lubbock, about 30 hours. We arrived about 9:30 in the morning. We walked up and the doors were locked. We pushed the button that said intercom. A voice (Bill's) comes on and says "Do you have an appointment?" We said "Huh???' He says "Do you have an appointment? We don't open the door unless you have an appointment"!!!

Needless to say, we were less than impressed. We explained that we had driven for 30 hours from Canada to get to the famous Chevycraft. He finally was "generous" enough to let us in.......

Not a great experience. It was a pretty normal Chevy wrecking yard. We bought a couple of things after he showed us around and told all the stories about all the cars, and we left. Not exactly a highlight in my automotive career!

Not long after I heard he got in trouble with the law over repro VIN tags. I read that the FBI raided a bunch of shops around the US, and he made the list.
