After a lot of hard work and long hours I got the SD off to the paint shop Monday and back today. I am really happy that I kept the car the original Matador Red. Now the reassembly process begins so there is still lots of work to be done but this is definitely a big day for the car.
I love seeing progress pics. The only thing better than that is seeing my own progress pics!
Keep us pictorially updated, will you please?
No problem with the update pics Carl. I have been taking lots of pictures but there has not been that much change. I took a lot of pictures of parts as I was cleaning them up to get factory paint marks, etc.
I took this picture of the cowl when I was stipping the black paint. It is the body paint number that was under the black that the factory sprayed on to cover the red overspray. I went over it with pencil because the yellow crayon was so faded.
Man, that looks good! How's the chrome? Good shape I hope, because the paint looks awesome!
I had the stainless buffed so it is perfect. The wheel opening mouldings are NOS. All the chrome is very good or NOS with exception of the bumpers. I have one clean rear bumper with a dent, the same with the front. I think I will run the original ones for now. The chrome on the rear is pretty faded above the tailpipes though.
Hey Brad-car looks great!! You must behappy to be this far along and chomping at the bit to start putting it back together. Can't wait to see it come along.Once the stripe goes on that red is going to jump off the computer screen.Make sure you keep loading pics as you go.

Hi John. I haven't got the stripes yet but I will keep the pictures coming. I'll give you a call tomorrow about the brake issue I had.
