Fantastic Long Weekend Weather

I hope everyone else is enjoying the same weather we are getting here in SW Ontario. You couldn't ask for a better forecast- sunny and temps in the high 20's from now until at least Wednesday. I spent most of today outside working on my landscaping projects. Now that most of the hard work is done on the Pontiac, I've been able to make a lot of headway on our yard. I'm finally "into it" much to the joy of my wife! Tonight we have friends coming over for a get together on our deck. My wife made an awesome dip and we have lots of fresh veggies from our garden as well as many other "not as healthy" snacks and drinkswink

Tomorrow we are taking the Laurentian to visit my sister. She hasn't seen the car since I first purchased it and is excited about going for a ride in it. She has many fond memories also of my Parents' 69 Pontiac. Monday my wife gets a much needed break from looking after her disabled parents (they live with us in a granny flat we built onto our house) as her brother is coming down until Tuesday. I think we may just head to the beach for the day.
What are you guys up to?

We decided to stay in Toronto this weekend rather than heading to the cottage. Weather was super nice today. I changed the gauge trio in the LeMans this morning so now I get true temperature readings!

Went to the CNE in the late afternoon with my wife, took in the RCMP Musical Ride, something I have never seen - makes you proud to be a Canadian, lots of food all bad for us and the regular CNE fun, got a nice dog tag from the Canadian forces display - Support our Troops and a NAVY bumper sticker. Nothing like the Midway all lit up at night, bought two Candy apples on the way out for my youngest daughter and niece who's at our place, you'd think I was God when they saw those!

Boss and his wife coming for dinner tomorrow, T Bones on the BBQ. Monday I'll head to Thornhill for their wrap up cruise of the season, always a great day, live bands and 5 Elvis impersonators lined up I hear.

Son finishes his summer stint at Awenda Provincial Park - Security Officer so I'll probably head up to help him home at some point next week so he is ready for second year at U of T starting on the 8th. He's been living at out cottage since June 20th.

Got  a hedge to trim too.

The weather has been nice todd, a nice change. Im working on the house as usual and then sneak in the garage every once in awhile so i can get the car ready for the road for next thurs. My wife is meeting her sister from england for the first time(her mom had to give her up when she was born, not a choice in those days) so we will go meet her at the airport in T.O and then on thursday the 11th they are coming here for 3days to visit here in london and we plan on going to Plunketts cruise-in so the they can see a bunch of "big american cars"

I would love to drive mine there so im just waiting to get the safety papers back from my brother in sarnia and then call and set up the insurance. It will be nice to drive it more than just around the block!!

Yup, just about the nicest Labour Day weekend weather I can remember, and it is supposed to be in the mid to high 20's right through next weekend, which will be good for the Barrie Fall swap meet!

I decided to stay in the city as well this weekend, after having been away the last 3 weekends and spending 31/2 hours getting home from a friend's cottage north of Kingston last weekend.  I've had enough of cottage traffic for this year!

Went to a friend's 10th anniversary BBQ on Sat., did some puttering around and shopping today, including stocking up on Weed and Feed fertilizer before it becomes illegal as of next year, another useless ban from our idiotic politicians who don't seem to have any time to address society's real problems.  My father is big gardener, always used lots of Weed and Feed, and pesticides to keep our place looking pristine.  I used to play in that grass, roll around in with the dog, etc., I'm still around, the dog lived until it was 18, again another moronic move without any proof of harm.  Toronto looks like an absolute disgrace these days, worse than some third world capitals I have visited, with weeds growing rampant on every piece of city land, along the curbs, every crack in the sidewalk, etc.  OK, rant off.

I will be working around the house tomorrow and pulling together the stuff I plan to take to Barrie next weekend.

73SC, what time are you planning to go to Thornhill?  If I get my chores done in time, maybe I'll tag along with you?

My wife and I are going for a nice long drive in the Acadian along the upper parkway in Niagara Falls. It is a fabulous day today. Probably come home later and enjoy the rest of the day around the pool.       A day of relaxing.

Just back from 4 full days at our "new" cabin. Yes, we've been there more than home since we bought it, or it seems like it.

Weather was cool when we got there Thurs night but wow, amazing weekend. Sunday was 32 and just perfect lake weather! Did a whole lot or R & R once again. Are you guys ready for one more sunset picture from our deck???!!!

Helped the neighbours pull up their dock last night. Sad, because we said some goodbye's until next year to at least a couple of the owners out there...

Maybe NOW I will stay home once in a while and start working on my Acadian!

We just got back from the Paris, Ont fall fair. Much larger than I expected. It's always fun to go to fall fairs. It was pretty hot. My wife is a red-head and I could literally watch her fair skin burn! Silly lady forgot the sunscreen..

We booked a stay, at a camp ground in Lakeport Mi.  5 miles north Port Huron on Lake..   Could not get into KOA in Port Huron (years wait for Labor day wkend) We left Thursday at noon, and arrived outside Sarnia, at 1:30. by 2.30 we started over bridge.. Got across at 3:30  AIR COND. STOPPED WORKING ON TRUCK!!!!!!! Had checked with mechanic, who had said it was probably ok, because, it only performed weakly with trailer on.. Momma was hot!  We stopped at Birchwood mall, and I noticed no water under truck. We wEnt to campsite aNd found 34.5' trailer and 22' truck would not fit in campground!!!!! So we left, and went to Port Huron Township RV park by Cracker Barrell on Water street.. Barb asked for a site, and they were full! duh! She keep talking and suddenly! there was a unused site, we could have for 4 nights!!!!!! 20.00 per night   We backed in and set up I notice a belt hanging under truck AIR COMPRESSOR BELT!!!Called a Goodyear centre in Port Huron next morning and they said to bring over truck.. We dropped it off at noon, and went to Meijer and Wal Mart .. They called and said serpentime belt was bad, so by 3pm it was ready.. They quoted $243.00 for belts, labor and A/C performance test.. The bill was $161.00? "RICK" said they checked a/c on machine, and it was OK, so he didnt charge for check!!!!! Wow !  ICE COLD AIR and didnt have to go somewhere, this week for the other belt.. We went to camp site and rested, went to Gibralter Trade Centre in Mount Clements Sat, and back to a pot luck supper at campsite and a country band till 10pm  had a 50.50 draw, and 15 door prizes.. We spent time at St Clair river, watching boats, and keeping cool.. We decided to beat the Monday rush, and pulled out 9:30 last night.. We drove over bridge to a waiting empty booth  10 minutes TOTAL  home at 11  Slept in today and enjoyed the heat!   Hope you all had a good time...biggrin
