1968 Strato Cheif Safari

I looked at a 68 safari tonight.  Body is real good with no dents or rust thru. Has a 327 2bbl,PS/PB and thats about it for options. Only has 85,000 miles though.  The guy stopped me in rush hour traffic to talk to me about my 60 biscayne. I pulled over(we were in front of his house at the time) and he gave me a 1960 Alberta plate that he had.
Anyways, I'd seen the wagon parked there and meant to stop in to inquire, but never did. He said he has a guy that wants the motor for $1000 and another guy wants the body for $500. I told him I might be interested in buying the whole thing for $1500. Hes kinda flakey and doesn't know if he really wants to sell or not. Gave him my # and  told him to call when he figures it out.
Never heard it run(it was pouring rain and the car has no muffler) but I will go back and see it when the weather is better(take some pics maybe, the interior looked mint)
  What do you think?

Well, that's gotta be a pretty rare car. The 327 is not all that desirable as it is a large journal block, same as a 350 block. I think the heads are pretty lame as well too.

However, it sure would make a neat driver if it's usable. You wouldn't meet your twin at every traffic light, that is for sure!

I read your initial post again. For some reason I thought it had said the body was so-so. I vote for this car sounding like a great deal once I read the description carefully.
