63 Parisienne 6cyl.

In the book I have it says the 63's were 230 cc but I thought they were 261 cc. Can anyone confirm which is right? Thanks.

I am no expert on this however I believe 1962 was the last year for the big and powerful 261 in Pontiacs.

This sales listing shows the Chevrolet 230 painted orange. TheGMC/Pontiac 261 was either green or aqua depending on year.

63 was the changeover year from the 261 in 62 to the 230 in 63 and then the 250 in 66 in the big cars. I like the 261 - before a valve stuck, iIcould drive my 2 speed auto parisienne at 80+ mph with lots left. I plan to rebuild it with some performance options and a Saginaw 4 speed for use in an as yet to be determined project.
