looking for old school bus to turn into a camper

was looking for a old school bus to turn into a camper, wanted something in the 55-59 gmc range didn't matter if it was a long bus because they can be shortened

saw this at newcastle yesterday its a 63 chev complete but it would be a nightmare.

this was at a recycle yard north of napanee, didn't ask if it was for sale it was too beat and full of parts its a 58-59

this one is at roblins, but its not for sale and its to far gone too.

saw this one on the net in douglas manitoba and its 1800 a little pricey for what i want to spend but its too far away.

i've come to realize it will never happen but it doesn't stop me from running the yards

Have you considered getting a late model bus and hanging a 55-59 nose on the front?.

If you find one you will have to paint it like the Partridge Family bus!

that is exactly what i was looking for. if it was earlier in the year i would have been doing a road trip. we just bought a camper trailer to replace the tent trailer to tow behind the GMC's, i guess this pipe dream is dead. now if someone can find me a old convertible bug project cheap.

Join the convoy with Hillar and Ray. It would be quite the sight to see you heading east on the Trans Canada. We could probably load you up with parts to help with traction in case of snow, and then have more stuff to hide in the garage.

Can you graft, a 55 front, on a later school bus?   any Duramax buses, out there yet?

my dad converted a '68 in the early 70's... went on vacation every year in that thing (as far as texas, disney land, west coast etc)... slept 8, washroom, propane stove/furnace/fridge etc... it was cool! ...327 and thrush mufflers! he hand pinstriped it with white patterns over the original yellow (roth rod style), then we painted it baby blue in the mid-80s...and he never did an oil change in 20 years of use (not kidding!) sold it about 10 years ago for around $2k... it was rough on fuel, not meant for the highway... especially with that small motor...
