poncho gone to storage

Well it was a sad day. Saturday I looked at the extended forecast and figured it was time. and none to soon the weather here has been less than desirable. Took the wagon for the last drive of the year . I took it up to a hanger in Gimli 60 miles north of Winnipeg . That's were my brother keeps his car and its only $55 a month . Its in a better play though its heated and they keep the rodents out . But I sure do get a empty feeling when I look and my van is in the wagons spot

Cheer up, spring is right around the corner.

Maybe this winter we need to do a Canadian Poncho coffee night for the "Manitoba Chapter".

The only thing that could make me feel better is if we get some of the white stuff . Then the kids can bring there sleds out and burn some of my gas. They are 11 and 15 and they sure get a big smile on there face when they can go riding. Last year they would go ride and I would work on the wagon but this year dad will be riding to.

It was like a July weekend in Southern Ontario. I haven't driven my LeMans in 3 weeks, its just sitting in front of the garage waiting to be backed inside. Now I was just thinking, better find a place for the Fleetwwod I just bought. I hadn't thought about not using it in the winter until 20 minutes ago but it is far too nice.

Yes you're right.....I've been unfaithful to my Pontiac, a bit of chrome, leather seats, moonroof and AC, rides like it's on a cloud, aren't I terrible.

Let them laugh all they want.

Today I was coming home with the family (4 of us) on Interstate 29 in North Dakota. At a cool 80 mph I was nicely passing a little puddle jumper from J*p*n. When I had my front bumper at about his back wheel, he decided to pull out and pass the car in front of him, no mirror check, no shoulder check. angered.gif It felt pretty good weighing in at over 5000 pounds driving 80 miles an hour (I didn't even slow down) with the left 4 feet of the car in the grass on the fast lane shoulder and the right side of the car just a foot or two from his sheet metal, horns a' blaring. I was very thankful I wasn't in any less car at that particular moment. If he'd come over just a touch farther, it would have been a nice "pit" maneuver on him and all heck would have broken loose. Not sure how all that would have panned out, but I like our odds a lot better than his.

I didn't wait to see, but I suspect he likely pulled in at the rest area a few minutes later to dispose of his underwear....

Long live B/D bodies worship.gif

That's a good one Carl, Good thing your all ok. Everybody's in a rush to die it sounds like, rush everywhere to get nowhere and almost die trying, or almost killing someone else. Just like everyone else I took my ride out on sunday for the last ride, took my oldest daughter and her boyfriend, ( Just returned from Middle East, was on the HMCS Calgary) he ahd never been out in the car, so I told my daughter to take the camera and get a video clip of a burnt out, I roasted the tires real well getting 2nd and 3rd gear rubber, went back to pick u daughter and she said the memory card was full, AH CRAP, LOL. Oh well have to wait till next year.

waiting for the west coast rain to stop, come on spring.

Do you  guys on Vancouver Island actually put your cars away?  Do you get any measureable snow during the winter?  I know some people down at the southern end at least (Victoria, Sooke) who never put them away and drive them year round.

Feel sorry for you guys that have to put your cars away. The only time I don't take mine out is when they salt the roads. We get a bad week or two of winter then it's OK.

Oh dear, down here in South Florida it is finally getting to where I don't have to have the A/C on in the garage to work on the car! With the US depressed economy maybe it's time to think about being a snowbird -- buy a 2nd home, come on down and soak up the sun October+, save the Canadian winter storage fees, maybe park your car on my vacant lot next to my house and have tropical drinks on my dock ...

But I'll put you to work swapping my 261 for my 496 biggrin

Dave

I usually run mine from late April to early May till late sept or early Oct. It doesn't have a heater, or should i say it doesn't have any heater hoses, so it get's kinda cool if ya drive it any later than now. The guages get all foggy inside them.  Where I live, an hour north of Victoria, we can get some snow,  maybe for around a month or so then we get lots of rain.
