69 acadian 2dr project,original 4spd car

The car is local to me and I beleive he has all the stock interior,and grill etc,etc to put the car back together.I did talk to him a while back,It's been for sale for a while,and was originally 3000.00.If anyone is serious about it,I'd consider checking it out for them.  Darryl

 If you could get some more pictures? The ones on that webpage don't show much. It won't allow me to email the guy directly either.

You would think an original stick Acadian would be worth restoring. Gotta be pretty rare...

       Here is a 69 print out ... I saw 69 Chevelle 396-375 print out, and it said 15, so I presume the number, on the Acadian print out, is for total SS cars...

The GM Canada papers list production numbers for the same model, which in this case is 2dr Sport Coupe. The SS is an option as shown on the list of options. The only way to know how many like this were made would be to get numbers on the option codes for SS & 3 Speed floor mounted. That would probably mean someone going through all 1,091 Sport Coupes and manually extracting  those options.

The same model number produced refers to the body number. The first 5 digits of the VIN. In this case the model is 71427, V8 2 door sedan.
 So there were 1091 V8 2 door cars built with various options including a SS upgrade.

 Other models available in 69 were;
71327 - 6 cyl. 2 door sedan
71369 - 6 cyl. 4 door sedan
71469 - 8 cyl. 4 door sedan

It's too bad GM historical wouldn't open up a museum with all the documentation in a library. Clubs would then be allowed to do research under supervision to find such production numbers. The Studebaker Museum in South Bend has this service. If you own a supercharged Golden Hawk with power windows in red, you can find out how many were made that way and get a copy of the actual production order.

My dream is to go to GM and spend a week in the microfiche there. I know it will never happen, but it's not like I haven't had that on my mind for 20 years...

Well, even if it never happens that the public is allowed in, we have to admit to being very very fortunate to have the documentation available that we do get. When I read the frustrations that our southern friends have, we have it very nice indeed.

The GM VVS Report for my old 71427 69 Acadian V8 2dr Coupe with Z26 Option and  M38 optioned ( T350 ) showed a production number of 1,091 as well.  So I'm not sure if they seperated the numbers by trans type, just model number.  My 71327 69 Acadian 6 Cyl 2dr Coupe has a production number of 2,615.
