Also, don't you hate it when you click to enlarge the photos on some ads and they are no bigger? That sucks..

That would certainly seem like a bargain if it's actually a clean car underneath. A rusty project car would run you all of that + once you fixed the panels, etc.

Sweet little car.

I hate it when a guy posts an ad with an attitude.  Some guy is telling me that I'm stupid for not buying his car.  Since when do I, as a buyer, care if he makes money or not.

I personally think $6,500 is $6,000 more than I'd pay for that car. Wait I wouldn't buy it at all!

Really? Boy, we don't find many cars that age around here with clean floors, frames etc.

Granted it looks nice but I guess I am cheap, $1,700 fully loaded mint condition Fleetwood VS $6,500 green 6 cyl. 38 year old Acadian. Geez, it's no contest to me. Heck, I paid less than a pay cheque for my LeMans and the car needed nothing to pass safety.

I just got two barely used all leather club chairs for $100. I even try and bargin at stores like the Bay. You'd be surprised how often it works. My philosophy is simple, I have the money and the seller wants it. The world is full of the stuff they are selling so I'll get it somewhere else, especially when the seller is as arogant as this Acadian guy was.

Carl, when I buy a car I usually offer half of what they are asking IF I really want it. When they say NO! and I turn and walk away 9 times out of 10 they either stop me or call the next day.

I learned this from my Uncle the Caddy owner. When he bought his 67 Coupe he told me he went to the dealer and made his offer, figuring they would reject it he wrote a cheque out for the amount he offered. When the salesman returned and said NO ! He put the cheque on his desk and left. 5 days later the car was his.

If he really needs to sell it he should try advertising elsewhere and not complain about no buyers. After all kijiji is a free site to advertise, and most of the time you get what you pay for.
Biggest obstacle when selling a car is....=PRICE!

I'm not going to quote anyone here because it takes up too much space but I have two comments to make.

First, the key to selling a car is not price.  It is called supply and demand.  If your buyer doesn't want to pay your price, he doesn't want it bad enough.  Price can be used as a tool to sell a car when you want to but if you have a car someone wants, price is not an obstacle.  The key to selling a car is making it available to as many people as possible.  Someone will pay the price, you need to find them.

Second, the example of someone offering 50% and then having 90% of the sellers except the offer is only true when you are buying a car no one else wants (supply & demand).  The guy who admits he is cheap, is not making offers on cars that are in demand.  He is buying cars that very few other people want (i.e. old Fleetwood).  He feels that he has buying power because he can walk away but actually it is the seller that has the power.  He is using the price as a tool to sell something that is not a hot item.  He lets the buyer feel like he is submitting to his buying power.  That makes for a happy buyer and a happier seller $$$.

Sorry to hijack this thread for this subject.
Forespeed. What you say is so true.
I have had people say to me that my car will be way down in value if I want to sell it. Firstly, I don't have to sell it and secondly, there aren't any for sale. There were 43 to start with.
If my car was for sale and someone wanted to buy it I don't care what the market is like. It's my price.
