I needed to buy a "thingie valve" to winterize my trailer, this week.. I dropped into a high end RV centre, in Bayfield.. A old family friend/tire customer, of mine took the tiime, to show me his 31 Ford Sedan ,and his 1of (few left) 7pass 30's Buick sedan!! AND he showed me his Winchester rifle collection! He has a 1899 Winchester rifle owned by Col. Sam McLaughlin, of Buick General Motors fame.. He has the only complete Commerative Winchester Rifle sets in Canada! He say he needs no RRSP'S GIC'S etc. He could easily pay for the restoration on Dave Plummers 427 car lol amazing to see... If you are into rifles, I will get you his address...
There's a guy I met here in Peterboro' who has the Winchester fever too.. Your guy probably knows him as he's tooled up for some of the striker pieces that are always missing or worn on these early Winchesters..
McLaughlins are very cool too and I grew up in Tyrone where the original McLaughlin farm and shop was.. As a lad I was lucky enough to meet Col. Sam once.. I believe he was 99 at the time and it was about a year or so before his death..
