Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a web site for production numbers on GM cars, free sites if possible. Specifically, a 2002 GTP 40th anniversary edition and curious to know how many of these were built. Thanks for any help
I don't think there is a way to get production numbers (you might get some help from Frank at GM historical services) but if you go do any GM dealer and get a decent service advisor, he can run your VIN on GMVIS (GM Vehicle Information System) and he can at least get you a build sheet as well as a warranty history printout. This will give you all the options, build date, claim history, plant that built it, selling dealer etc. Todd
I think into the mid 90's but the farther back you go, the more information that seems to be purged from the system. Sometimes you only see the option codes with no description. The VIS on my 2000 Park Ave showed the option codes with descriptions.
