Tinted Windows

Has anyone had their newer vehicles at a Tint shop?  My Texas truck has the front windows done..       I have a further question regarding tinted windows on classic cars.

I took a family member's 2007 Pontiac Wave to have the 3 back windows done at Apple Auto Glass. Man does that make the car look better.

I have had some tinting down, and love it ,on Some applications... I dont like too dark no It helps on the truck, when we are pulling our RV trailer..biggrin  I DONT like darker/dark tint on classic cars...no  My question is----  Can not some of these places ,tint the windows, on my Ventura II(or any old car) with a "light green" OE style Tint?   My front window is new/tinted, and I would like to add air cond, and tint the others, before I sell them..   I would think, that there COULD be quite a demand for this....    I have a friend who does truck only (flatter windows) and he once told me, he thought he could get light green OE tint, but had to buy a lot ...   If you guys have any friends, in the tint business. would you ask them?   Carl

Carl
There are two kind of greens that you should be able to get in Ont. One is called Kelly Green and the other is Emerald Green both are about 30-35 tint. Colour tints were made for the imports after those Tuner movies.

Carl are talking about tinting the windows and then selling them? I called the tint supplier that I used to buy my product from and they have some in stock but it is very lite, almost can't see it.They said next time I'll in the ares to stop buy and take a sample to show you.And i have tinted older cars also with curved windows.Just let me know if this interests you and I'll do what i can to help you.xd.gif

I would be interested in real light green  "not tuner car stuff" lol  When I sell the tinted windows, they will be attached to the cars I am selling....  I cant believe, that a lot more, would not be interested  Its not going to ruin the value of a driver... and most like the shaded glass look

I would also like to see some tint that is just a shade darker than the OEM tint used on factory glass back in the '70's. A green colour, but not too dark that it stands out. Is that available?

Everything is for sale, with the current economic developments, in our immediate area, Unfortunately ,we have made choices of items, that no one seems to be interested in.. I bought my last car by accident, and the previous car is not worth much...We are starting with the RV and truck. Cars are available, to those, who had expressed previous interest.

Before I swapped the tinted glass in my Pontiac I was looking for the same thing - an OE style light blue/green tint. I was told it was no longer available, and all the tint shops I visited had the wrong shades of color, and  also too dark. Later I saw some on e-bay that looked right but by then I had decided to do a glass swap.

That would be the "correct" way to do it, but with haveing to buy rear glass and 4 sides plus vents would cost "thousands" plus labor   I would really like to find tint closes to OE.   I am sure, there are others here, who would like to know, where they can get, OE glass  smile

The tint with the greenish tinge to it was made by Madico. I used that on some older cars quite a few years ago, but don't have any left. I haven't used Madico for years either, as I've gone to Llumar as my brand.

I'd love to tint aall the windows in my wagon with the Green. I remember my Cousin had a 67 Skylark (all jacked up, 50's on the rear) back in the 70's and it had green tinted windows and it looked sooo Koool!!

For me, tinted glass is a must have option. I don't own a car without it, and I prefer factory green tint. I've only had to install it in one car, and I've stripped it out of or bought it out of other cars just to have spares. It's just so hard to get now.

Yes, I Agree...I like the lighter tints as well, save that Dark stuff for the Tuners and Limo companies
