I was just about to post this car too. If you can get by the errors in the description it looks nice, but not $10,000 nice imo.

The mayor of Oshawa is provided a GM car by the taxpayers of Oshawa. I'm thinking the mayor in 1977 drove this one.

Oshawa's mayor, in 1977, was James "Gentleman Jim" Potticary. He worked with my father many years ago.

Sadly, he passed away a year ago, aged 82, so we can't ask him. Maybe someone knows a relative.

Cool car w/ the low miles and all but starting the bidding at 10,000 w/ an even higher reserve is a major reach...especially in today's market!. 
And personally I'd be doubting that sticker is anything original...to me the whole style also fonts look too new to be from '77?.

As a side note to the Oshawa Mayor thing, we've talked about the current Mayor on the SYC site a few times before as he's a car guy and Yenko Corvair owner!.

Yes, John has been a Corvair guy for many years. He (as mayor) got a 2005 Monte Carlo from the Oshawa Plant in 2005. Since Monte Carlos are gone, I don't know what they have him driving now.
