Interesting Beaumont/Chevelle On Ebay

This car is listed as a Chevelle but the trim tag pictured is a Beaumont trim tag. I saw this on Team Chevelle. The VIN is 7356791114523 according to the original poster. Not a bad looking car that may be worth checking into.

Very interesting , this definatly is a Beaumont in sheep clothing,  Its also as much as a brother to mine in I mean is only made 200 cars before mine and date code if I see it correctly is 5c, same as mine, This car was originaly a  six cylinder car and they only made 568 total six cars, How many rag tops ?  Trim code shows it as a Black parchment bench seat car and Crystal Turquise in exterior colour, also had a power glide trany. If I had this car I would transform back into a Beaumont. A much rarer car than as a chevelle (This car only made about two days before mine)

First off it is a very nice looking car. If he has the documentation then he knows what it is. I suppose he feels "1969 Chevelle convertible clone" covers him off.

What do you suppose the new owner will think when he gets the documents and it says Pontiac Beaumont, then he find out that it was actually rarer as a 6 cyclinder Beaumont convertible ?

Any of you Beaumont guys game to ask him a question about it?

Well I asked and he gave copy of GM Info package. Proof positive is a Beaumont and 1 of 40 six cylinder converts made. "O" if I had the money I would drag it back
Canada and convert back to Beaumont.

Agreed. That car needs so badly to come out of the Chevelle closet.

That is awesome documentation and a Toronto car too, Plaza is a huge dealership. Did the vendor make any comments about the paperwork or did he just send it along.

It was by E mail and his reply was ;

Hello Ian,

Here is what GM of Canada sent me, please keep in mind that this is a SS396 clone. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

I guess he is being some what truthfull, is a clone, but I think to a American bidding on it maybe thinking it is a Canadian Chevelle cloned to be a SS.

maybe he kept all the Beaumont parts, Im sure a Chevelle is more identifiable and marketable in the states. 1 of 40, is pretty rare, out of that, how many remain, hmmmmm

Boy, to me that is like if I would turn my Acadian in to a Nova. I can't even imagine doing something like that. That is just a shame...

I think he is being upfront about the history of the car not being what it is now and he even encourages bidders to ask and determine what in fact it is. He sent you the documentation without hesitation so we can only assume he will do the same with everyone.

Your point about "cloning" got me thinking though. Plenty of Corvettes have been turned into Ferrari, GTO turned into Bumble Bee Camaro for the movie Transformers, Yukons into Escalades, VW kit cars for almost anything as well, so I suppose you don't have to start with what the end product will be, although that would be most common starting point.

There is a guy who frequents our local cruise night with a red 69 Convertible, red interior as I recall. It's got the red Maple Leaf in the centre of the horn button. We will snap a shot or two when we are back at it in May. It is a 307, column shift car, full wheel discs. He won a dual exhaust system at Wasaga Beach cruise, real nice system, other wise it is bone stock. It might be missing an emblem here and there but very very nice car.

Wow !! Fred you sure have a good collection of pics and stuff on the beaumont. We will have to follow the one for sale and see what it sells for, its at 8600 us now. Given the rarity of the car is a good price.
