A fix for late model key FOBs

My FOB started acting up. Remote lock would work, but unlock would only work sometimes. A new battery made no difference.

Simple solution -- pop the case open with a quarter and use a pencil eraser to gently rub the back of the buttons.....the black connectors. Also, gently clean the contact points on the circuit board.

Fixed. Cost? $0.00 biggrin

Onward and upward.

Cool.

I've used Q-tips and alcohol to do the same job. Not always successful but most of the time.

My wife's stopped working and when I took it apart it was a gooie mess. Turns out it got dropped in a glass of Coke. It cleaned up and works again.

I dropped mine in a glass of beer and it worked better.

Finally! A possible fix.
Both fobs on the wifes 03' have stopped working. Even new batteries wont help.
I'll try it!
