The vendor indicates he has the GM Canada Documentation so there should be no reason to doubt the veracity of his production data, one can assume he is taking the data from the official document. A 1967 327 would be rated at about 275 HP, is that right?

I don't know the production data at all on this year and model but I read the statement to say that the 327 PG combo would be rarer than a 396 car. I don't know the facts but on the face of it it seems plausible to me.

I just simply went to the registry on our own Baord and there are ZERO 327 Beaumonts listed. Notwithstanding the engine in the car today the vast majority are 6 cylinder and 283 cars.

Yeah I would think its reasonable to say that there are not many 327 sd's out there, and more 396 cars, most 736vin SD's would have been 283/pg.  also probably not too many unrestored SD cars left that are complete and with a drivetrain...

68SD, i think you are correct, that the 451 number is for 738 cars, not 736 SD's...i don't think GM knows how many 736 SD's were built (or at least it hasnt been stated that i've seen? but the sbc cars are rarer than the bbc cars from what i understand)... i can't find my old GM sheet, but i dont think they gave the production #'s back when i got mine (around 1989ish?)... This would also mean that the production number quoted for sd convertibles doesn't include the few 736vin SD's in existence...

I wonder if this car was the all blue one that was for sale last year in vancouver, the SD that looked like a decent car but apparently needed a whole bunch of work when it was seen in person... someone on this site looked at that car and walked... i think the price was down around $5500? started at $7-8k....sounds similar.

I've posted my mothly listing on a previous thread.... so all my info is on this site, including vin... i could give key codes too!hahaha!

Loud, that number must be for alll 736vin convertibles...including all customs... i would only 'guess' that your car is one of only a handful of 736 sd convertibles (and probably the only one existing!)... not that i'm an expert on a registry by any means, but so far you are the only small block 736 sd convertible i've heard of, and only one 736 396 sd convertible. I never knew a 736 sd convertible existed until recently. And about half a dozen 738 sd converts... I know BB67SD (Ken) has a lot more history on what he has seen around over the years, he may be able to note other 736vin SD convertibles that he's seen...

We need George to be bored one week and count all 736 vin cars with A51 and no console until early december 66, when the 738 debuted and tell us how many 'sd' cars were made with the 736 vin... the info is there, but its just a couple thousand lines of production info to get through! Nothing us poncho guys couldn't get through in a long day if we had access!!

I asked the guy to send me some pics. See attached. The car has different rims in the pics. Also the big block hood is missing. Did all 67 SD cars come with the big block hood?

The BBC hood came on the 738vin cars, not the 736 sports optioned ones... so that make sense that its not on this one, being a 327 car... it doesnt have any fender emblems, but those are easier to find... looks like big stretch to call it "unrestored"...the paint is pretty shiny for 40 years old!! doesnt look like too bad of a project, would be nice to see in person and to see what is lurking underneath and inside!

p.s. doesnt look like the one that was for sale last year...
