I'm so glad we don't have to go thru this abuse here. It's bad enough our newer cars have to be tested!

Why dont you guys call your MPP and ask if you can just send in the money, and forget the test... I am sure all those old cars, are going to really ad up to serious polution   Why dont they just test Jet Ski's

There was talk of getting rid of it. Alot of people just claim they live outside the GVRD with a buddies address and then they don't have to test.

Hey Kim; First time mine failed as well however, we did not know how lean I had to be to make it pass, so when I went back the second time the car was barely running in order for it to pass. I know all the guys at a Pontiac dealership so after the car passed inspection the guys were waiting for me back at the shop so that I could get it running properly again. You may need to do a similar thing.  shh.gifshh.gifshh.gif

Now I do not need to Aircare ever again, as I have "Collector Plates" on the car now. Thank god. Just got my insurance notice for the year $265.00.

That $265 won't even get me 3 months. I can't wait for a modified collector for my year.

I tried screwing with my carb before. I'll see on dropping the RPM some more and pay another $23

Trust me, you will probably be waisting the $23.00 and will have to do it again for another $23.00. Not to mention it costs more for the 3 months of insurance than it does for a 1 year pro-rated. I know that Gold Key Pontiac could dial it in for you.

Just curious being from Ontario... When you test these are the standards the same across the board or are they different with new versus old cars?

There are diffrences with the age Ususally the older ones are a little more lenient but at times they seem to be diffrent even from station to station I still think its a big cash grab They are starting to close down stations now and say the contract will not be renewed in I think 2010 or 2011

Thanks for the tip on Gold Key, but Bryans shop is less than 9 kms away from me. He'll fit me in today. He said no problem as long as I drive in the rain.
Thanks Marty hard to find someone to work on your car besides yuourself.

I wasn't there for 5 minutes and he said I was good to go. Hooray I passedbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

He brought my idle CO2 down from a 6.05 to a 1.05
Marty sounds good for meet, but I'm buying your coffee.

Glad you passed! My 69 gto rag went through like nothing. I just leaned the carb right out and I was good to go. Run hi-test, go on the #1 for a good fast rip, lean it out and good to go. If not , find a guy in insurance (zone z)
