Hi everyone,

It was great to meet all the local Winnipeg members of this forum Tuesday evening over coffee.

Thought maybe some of you might be interested in spending a Saturday/Sunday out of Winnipeg and do some camping and attend a car show as a group. West Hawk Lake is about an hour and a half drive East along the Trans-Canada #1. They offer camp sites by the day which we could book in advance. West Hawk Lake Beach is a great place to spend the afternoon on a hot day. There's also motel rooms available for those not looking to "rough it". West Hawk has 2 great restaurants, a bar/beer vendor with live bands.

This trip idealy would be a group cruise (family included) to West Hawk on a early Saturday morning. Everyone would bring their camping gear, meat and drinks of choice, I could provide the barbecue. Spend Saturday at the beach, have a fire into the evening.

Sunday morning would include getting ready for the Kenora Harbour Fest Car Show:

West Hawk to Kenora is another 30 minute drive East into Ontario. We could register as a group and enter the show together. Harbourfest is a huge summer event in Kenora with wake boarding contest, live bands, fishing derby, kids entertainment etc.

This trip would take place August 1st to 2nd. I'm putting the word out early so people have time to fit it into their summer plans if possible. I think everyone would have a great time. Those from Ontario, don't be shy to meet up with us at the show. It would be great to have a good turnout for the weekend.

We have a cabin on the east side of Kenora so we are not much for camping but I will hopefully be out there for the Kenora show.

I also would be willing to come and spend some time during the day with a group at Westhawk. I'm not much of a drinker (or not at all) but as long as it's not a here-come-the-cops type of party I'm game!

we have a show here in ontario we go to every year in ameliasburg (by Belleville) its 3 days camping and car show,good fun 50 bucks and friday its all you can drink beer and corn roast,saturday its a free roast beef dinner and dance ,sunday thay have a car show. its usually second week in august around the 7-10 th or so,anyone been there?

hey fred  were do you live? i live about ahalf hour from there, never camped but some cars ive done work on go to it.

I may be game for that show... i've never gone since i usually go camping to lake of the prairies and duck mountain around august long the past 5 years... but not this year...

Now that my 4000 stall and 4:56s are out of the car its more driveable too... either that or i bring the boat in case anyone wants to toss a line in at Falcon and try our luck for a shore lunch!

Carl, its hard to have a 'here come the cops' party at that campground! so no worries there!

A buddy and myself are building a cottage at Engineers lake Or Wanetka. Might be fun to do Harbourfest again.

Hmmmm... that's about 4 months away, maybe this would be a good target date to get my car on the road???
If my car's ready or not, I'd probably be game but I gotta check with the boss, I mean the wife first.
I have some cousins that just moved to Kenora last fall so it's another excuse to go visit them.

   I've been to that Ameliasburg carshow way back around 1990 when I used to work in Trenton Ontario, it was a great show and sunny like the picture.

when is the show? i've been checking the net but haven't found anything concrete. this might be doable. not that i would go for all that you can drink, because i would have the youngsters with me.
