Random "big boat" pic....

My recent Roadmaster purchase reminded me of a pic I took a couple of years ago at our dealership. The day I took it, it hit me how rare a sight like this is now. 3 B body rear drives lined up at a GM dealership. We seldom see a B body in there. The middle car is mine, other two are not. Sorry if this is a duplicate, I may have posted it last winter on here, not sure.

Looks just like a NYC shipping harbour.

Did you use a Tugboat to get them perfeclty lined up like that?

Sorry, i'll stop now.biggrin

Sadly, your statement is true, all too rare a sight these dayscry

That Impala in the forground is a nice looking car, the wheels on my Fleetwwod are very similar if not identical with a different centre cap.

Definately a shame we can't see more garages with them cars coming in. And Ray...again...just had to get the Caddy in. We're going to have to get the Caddy Police organized to patrol for you.

Maybe, but would be fun to institute the CP Caddy Brigade...issue warnings and citations.

No really, I just mention because they are both built in the same plant and the wheels are so similar, almost a waste of money to purchase the Top Line car when the Impala looks so good.

Quit sucking up Ray. You're just trying to make me feel better cause all I own is Impalas and Roadmasters rofl.gif

Seriously, the Caddy is way more car but I just can't find a nice shape, affordable LT1 Fleetwood around here.

I was trying to be serious, but since were into it now I rarely drive the Fleetwood but today I did take it on a highway run to Markham and back, about a 45 minutes to a one hour trip. (my wife has the Deville in Buffalo - shopping !)

I know you are committed to the LT1 but Carl my L05 has lots of steam and passing power, I have to hold it back so as not to attract the attention of the black & whites. The car rides so beautifully on the highway it is a real treat, nicer than my Deville I believe even with all the ponies the Northstar offers. If you expanded your search to the 93's you might find one for less money. Nothing wrong with the traditional small block either btw! Both L05 and LT1 are rated to tow 7,000 lbs. so in the torque department they are equal.

We had a 92 Roadmaster before this one. Beautiful car, 80,000 km, bought from original 74 year old owner. I was ok with it until I bought my first Impala SS. After that, I couldn't focus on a throttle body any more, it had to be LT1 and haven't looked back.

The TBI's are great, but I just love the LT1. It is so refined and the bottom end ooomph reminds me of my 67 Grande Parisienne wagon with the 396.

The only reason I don't say the Fleetwood is a better car than my Deville is because of the Northstar engine in the Deville, but at the end of the day you'd rather drive a Cadillac slower to enjoy the trip than call on the ponies. It's not a race car, it's a cruiser and the Fleetwood is the Ultimate in comfort cruise.
