I'm a GM parts man. Part of my job is to do parts returns to GM. Recently, they decided to let an outside company process these returns. GM gave them a list of things unacceptable for return. One thing on the list is writing on parts boxes. I understand that. I don't like it if the box GM ships me has messy writing all over it from a parts guy somewhere who made no effort to keep the part looking nice in case he had to return it.

I sent this box in for return. My claim was rejected for "writing on the inside of the box." Keep in mind, this is on the inside of the box. I doubt that it was even done at our dealership.

Can you believe that they rejected my return claim for this????? angered.gif

So they denied it for that little tiny bit of writing on the left side under the lid WOW thats pretty bad

A buddy works for a FFF FFF FFFFOOO Sorry I cant say it you all know the 4letter f word Anyway I know that they have really clamped down on them aswell If the story about that part that was replaced doesnt quite match the reason for it it will be automatically denied

Yup, the rest of the box is perfectly clean.

I still can't believe it when I see the picture.

I am a patient man but when I called the guy to tell him I was sending him a picture of an ink mark less than a half inch long on the inside of the box I almost lost it.

And I should add, they returned it with the "written on"note, I looked it over and didn't even see that writing the first time around. When I went to show it to the parts manager, then I saw that little dinky ink mark...

so unfortunatly that is going to make alot more work for you if you have to inspect every box that you sell and reinspect upon return for cores That is definatly a bit much Guess they figure that they can save money if they start dening claims

You should be able to lift that ink with a bit of scotch tape, or a sharp exacto knife lightly scrapping it off.

I use that tape trick sometimes.

The only reason I am not going to change this is they NEED to take this part back as is and I plan to pursue it until they bend their silly rule. Never mind bend, until they realize that their rule needs to be changed to allow marks that don't interfere. That, and hire competent people to do their work too.

I feel for you. I worked in Cp rail parts dept for   36 years , the last place had over 10,000 items We shipped to all of Canada and States. Just when you thought you
heard it all, some thing even more crazy  pops up.     Thats got to be one of them!!

Thats just one of the most stupid things I have ever heard off!!  I would have given them a earfull,   Whats there number ?   I do not even work there and I am worked up over it. LoL

         Carl you have to follow the rules!  Was the guy, who made the rule, ever in Government?      I bet, if you sent it again, the other fellow working there, would accept it!  He doesn't speak English!!

Good for you Carl stick to you guns cause this rule could affect all of us. I know when I return something the box is not really in all that good a shape. Now with what you have said I can see some of that trickiling down to the guy buying the parts from the dealer.
