Windshield

Hi guys:
Need your help again. 67 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible. I need a windshield and running into brick walls. Is there any car (eg 2+2, catilina) that has the windshield that would fit? Americian cars are wider so I'm stumped. They say always ask the profesionals. So, Im asking............

Hey Rick  (Times 2)!! '67-'68  Rag, 2-dr and 4-dr hardtops will fit. Not sure about the '66 versions, but I did take one from my '67 4-dr sedan and put it in my '66 Strato Chief 4-dr sedan.  Just called my glass guy and #660 glass will fit from '66-'68 Chev and Cdn Pontiac, Convert, 2-dr and 4-dr h/tops. Not sure on the American side. Excusing the pun, we all have a larger glass of opportunity!!!!
Same for the sedans and wagons from '66-68 as well, of course, a different glass. That is all I know.........Hope it helps...

Thanks for the info Vincent. That's what I believed, but was looking for confirmation and pricing for Richard before saying that. I just threw away 1 windshield that was quite pitted (sandblasted) and the one in the 4 door hdtp is not good.
This is all great info to have on file here.

Vincent is right, Chev & Pontiac glasses are the same for 67-68 for sure. Catalina glass from the same years will fit too.

I was just rethinking this windshield thread while I was away doing something else and it dawned on me. If a '66 glass will fit a '67 and '68, and a '65 and a '66 were close in body design, then the '65 model year glass should fit a '67 and '68 as well as the '66? I will recheck again tomorrow to be sure!
So, in theory, the windshields out of a '65 to a '68 Chev or Cdn Pontiac, in their respective models, should fit!!
And as John just stated, the American cars will fit as well!

Thanks again guys now I have some info when I challenge some of the glass places. The windshield has a rock chip that someone tried to fix but did a poor job.

What I've learned over the years I've been working on my 69' Rag, is to call it a 69' Impala. Mentioning the word Pontiac confuses the "non car" parts people every time.

Glad you sorted it out rick.

So 65-70 windshields arn't universal...hmmm.

Especially in front end parts!!! I ordered a kit of ball joints and outer tie rod ends for my Rag out of Kanter in the States, back in '95, and I specifically TOLD him that it was the same as a Caprice...Guess what I got!!!!!! Then of course to ship it back and so on and so on!!!! I still have it somewhere here....evileye

In the meantime.... chatted again to my glass guy, '65-'68 are all the same in their respective body styles!! That's not bad, 4 years, if need be, to find a decent windshield if a new one is not an option! Also, '69 and '70 are the same.

$300 Installed? Wow, Got to look around here.
My 65 needs the windshield replaced and I have one from another 65 Catalina. It's a good piece, but not new.
Heck, if I can get a new windshield installed, that's the way to do it.
I remember my friends 66 Bel-Air, he had to get a new windshield, what a difference from driving with old one.

Both still require a lot of work.
