Anybody ship parts overseas?

bumper.jpg
A guy wants my Lemans front bumper, but he lives in Austria. The bumper dosen't fit on a standard shipping pallet.
I can't understand why someone would want a $60 bumper and pay hundreds to ship it? Dosen't make sense to me.

I fit needs to be replated, just CUT it in half!   They can weld it together at the plating shop... disbelief

just make a crate from 2x4's (or 2x2's) and 3/8" OSB (chipboard).   Put some 2x2's on the bottom side so a forklift can get under it.  Very staightforward.  Keep in mind these types of things get shipped every day.

How does he want it sent?  UPS or FedEx?  Parts availability in far away lands is non-existant, and yes they'll pay the shipping.  May seem crazy to us, but getting parts from North America is their only choice.

I shipped a parcel to France seaway and it took over 2 months to get there, buddy thought I ripped him off and I almost got a negative feedback on Ebay so make sure you let know the buyer it may take forever to get there. Kim, Did you sell the bumper on Ebay ? Let me know when you auction your wheelwell mouldings on Ebay, I found 2 front ones and still need the rear ones.

The bumper is still on Craigslist. I got a nice looking decklid and Sport emblems on Ebay right now. A couple of guys came by for my trunklid and bought $900 worth of parts and the wheelwell chrome was part of that....Sorry Pascal.

Kim, I was reading a post on PY about NOS rear quarters, full repop rear quarters ( both very expensive) and skins like I bought and they were saying the mouldings don't fit to well on the skins so what now ??? Did you have to replace your quarters and how they look-fit ? Congratulation on selling most of all your parts mo money for your project. I know where there is a good used 1970-72 trunklid for sale cheap, maybe I'll go buy it if they are worth so much more... I was browsing through Craigslist Vancouver, alot of Poncho cars and parts stuff, could you keep an eye open for a used set of SDPERFORMANCE rebuild set of 6X heads for me ? I see there is a set of 13's right now. Thanks.

For the rears. You need a bunch of small clamps and bend it into place then when it looks like it fits put the srcews in. Big pain in the ass and hours for just one side.
The decklid was only $100. they just kept asking if I had this and that part and while I was pulling out the one they asked for....they saw something else they wanted. I got the rearend on Craigs plus a few other parts as well. Seen the same rearend on Ebay for $325.....mines $100
I'll keep an eye out for you

Hey Kim!  If he is giving the money up front dont worry about it!!  LOL

I sent a 70 core dash pad to Sweden a couple years back to a guy and It was more to send it than he paid for it and he was going to have to fix it as it had a crack in it to boot..  Make the crate for the bumper out of 2x4s or call Darryl and maybe he can get a crate for you!  Or maybe Ryan can from that fork lift place
