here's my question.my 68 parisienne originally came with a 327 sbc that threw a rod. i have an unhealthy 305 sbc in it now.sitting on my garage floor i have a 71 olds 455 rocket with a t400 trans.now i know i will get flak from this, but what would i have to do to install it in the Pontiac. Will i have to replace the frame perches. i know about the exhaust and rad and other up grades.thanks
A 455 Olds is getting pretty hard to come by these days. You could probably get a good buck for it and use the proceeds to buy another small or big block Chevy.
About 20 years ago we shoehorned an Olds 455/turbo 400 combo into a neighbour's 76 Nova Concours. It can be done, but it wasn't easy and probably wasn't worth it in the end. Todd is right, sell it and use the money to buy a Chevy set-up that will slip right in.

455 Oldsies were one of my favourite transplants too.. GM was always great as the holes for any B-O-P or Chevy engine mount stands and crossmembers were usually there on many cars already so robbing the conversion parts from a donor car was the easiest and cleanest way to go.. The later 70's trucks that used the Olds diesels made it easy for the transplants being they had the Olds mounting holes too..
If you look at your '68 and the extra holes are there already, look for a boneyard similar year B-Body Oldsie w/ the parts to make it all a factory fit..
