It's interesting that these CanAm cars were not sold in Canada.

In 1977 a LeMans Sport could  have been ordered out of Oshawa, pretty much identical in equipment to a Can Am right down to the Grand Prix dash. You could get special striping too similar to the 73 Grand Am. There was also a little known GT option that had the Grand prix dash as well, rally wheel and special graphics package too. Top engine in 1977 in Canada was the corporate 350 4bbl at 170 HP, I'm not sure what a Can Am put out but but 400's of that era were in the 180 - 200 HP range I think. Can Am's have cult status in the US. 1975 Canada Cup LeMans GT's may even be more rare than the 1300+ Can Am's but there does not seem to be the same interest in them and they even could come with a Pontiac 400 .

There are a few thousand non converted Can Ams that had to be sold as LeMans Sports when the production mould for the rear spoiler broke. They are white with engine code Z, no rear spoiler or shaker hood otherwise all the same equipment.

A little of topic but do people not own vacuums. I don't know how many times I look at pics in ads of peoples floor and they are covered in crap. If you want to get top dollar you should at least clean the car

I think it is a good buy. Crazy to say but I never have been drawn to those cars. Must be Canadian Poncho blood running in my veins.
