chevelle parts supplier in california.  they have the 64-65 skinny OEM shrouds avail for only about 50 dollars.  best kept secret around.  ecellent to deal with, but you may have trouble with them shipping across the boarder.
Im sure it could be adapted to a 66.  all 64-67 rads are the same basic dimentions

They are also the exclusive dealer for the 2500 dollar 1965 "Z-16" trim.

They carry a 66 sbc factory style plastic shroud and a bbc shroud... $90... i wonder what the difference is between the two? and would there have been an sbc shroud? on 327s only perhaps?

I have the factory rad set up in my 66 There isnt actually a shroud that goes on it but a spacer that is between the rad and the support and the rad is just pushed back closer to the fan. I did a road trip in the middle of august of last year through manning park into Kelowna and had no heating issues at all. Mine is also 60thou over bore Let me know if you would like a pic of what it looks like

I know the set up you are refering too -same as what i had on my car, i just found it interesting that the chevelle restoration sites list a reproduction 'small block chevy plastic shroud'....i wonder which sbc engine option would have had factory shroud, and it was it available on any beaumonts in 66/67/ (I know the BBC definitely had a shroud)...

64 and 65 A/C cars did have shrouds in some cases.  Im not sure what exactly made them have one from the factory though.
As for plastic ones on 64-67 i have never heard or seen such a thing.
