Anyone have any '66 Grande Parisienne Parts for sale? PHOTOS ADDED

I have a '66 Grande Parisienne 4 door hardtop that I am in need of some pieces for such as fender and trunk emblems, interior door panel Grande Parisienne scripts and some trim pieces. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who can help or who has a car like mine. PM me or just reply to this thread if you choose. Also need some other goodies for the same car if anyone has parts. Thanks. smile

Post a photo of it so I know what I'm looking for. I know where some big pontiacs are.

Welcome here.

I know of a 4 door hardtop in a yard about 2 hours west of here. It will be a number of weeks before I can get there but I would like to visit him anyway. Never been there but someone showed me a picture of the car last year and it is most certainly a 66 Grand Parisienne 4 door hardtop.

Thanks for responding. I'll try to get a couple of photos tomorrow. I was away all day today and just got home and it is almost dark. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks again. Garysmile

Hi Carl - Please do keep me in mind when you do get to where the car is. I'll try and post a more comprehensive want list in the next day or so. The car is a "someday car" - someday I'll get to it but while I am thinning out the vehicles that I have here, the Pontiac will not be going anywhere.

Here are some photos that I just took of the Grande Parisienne. Hope they help.
So what I need are the following -
2 "Grande" scripts - one for each fender
door panel emblems ( may have found those )
trunk lid pontiac V shaped emblem

There will likely be more stuff needed but for now, I will start with those. If anyone has any other pieces or options, I may well be interested. I looked for years for a '66 Parisienne 4 door hardtop but never could find one. This is as close as I could come. When I moved to Oliver back in 1973, this car was being used as a daily driver. It fell into the wrong hands over 20 years ago and the original 327 and automatic were stripped from the car and it was hauled away as junk. I was hauling cars in for recycling at that time and it was given to me but I just couldn't bring myself to destroy it. So, it has sat here for the last number of years awaiting it's fate. I have had chances to sell parts off of it and one guy wanted to buy the car just for the fender skirts and he would junk the rest but again, I did not want to see it destroyed. I am hoping this coming year to at lkeast get it into driving condition. I will never "restore" the car but I would like to turn it back into a decent daily driver that my wife and I can enjoy.

Thank you.. I am sure that there will be more stuff once I get started on the car. I have not added the car to the registry as of this time but I'l llikely do so. As for '67 Grande Parisienne's - you don't see a lot of big old Pontiacs in this are at all any more. I'll keep your needs in mind though. Thanks again.

It's nice to see you had the heart to keep it.
Good luck with it. Looks to be relatively solid body wise.
Have you had a look underneath lately?

It's too bad that wrecker in Oliver got cleaned out of all the good stuff a few years ago. My in-laws lived around the corner from it. I used to walk by frequently. I should have taken some photos.

Thanks. It really is a pretty solid old car and yes, the underside is good despite how it looks where it is sitting. The car has been off the road since the late 70's so it has been spared the ugly winter driving conditions that we have here. I know that it's bad back east but considering here that they start spreading chemicals on the highways at the moment someone even suspects that it may snow - and our warmer temperatures keep the road "salt" active for as long as the roads are wet - and the "blue goo" that they are now using - the liquid - is even worse than the regular garbage.. anything driven in the winter here doesn't have much of a chance any more. We drive a Buick wagon in the winter and it is deteriorating rapidly. Funny how the environmentalists never complain about the countless truck loads of chemicals that are dumped on our roads all winter long but they sure do cry at the idea of a drop of oil touching the ground.

Yup - that's one of them. That one was a factory 348 Turboglide car that I brought up from Oregon years ago now. It came from a wrecking yard where it was going to be crushed. Actually, I think that you may have been at my place here last summer some time.

I know what you mean about the Oliver yard. It was a sad day when that place fell into the wrong hands and the people who operate it now bought it. There isn't a lot left now for old cars as it has become more of a scrap recycling yard than a wrecking yard. When I first walked through that yard back in '73, it was something to see even then. The former owner, Herb - is a great guy and he told me several times that he wasn't a wrecker - he hated parting out older running or complete cars and many times, he would keep them intact in hopes of finding a good home for them. I considered buying the place when he was trying to sell but I am too much like him - probably even worse as I share his sentiments about tearing old cars apart that still have a fighting chance.

I noticed that the "vavavoom Garage" in Altamont Manitoba has a complete 66 grande 4dr HT.  i saw a pic on his "for sale" board at a car show today.
At least im about 99% sure of that
Normally he sells hole cars, but could be worth a call.
Bill harrison vavavoom garage.  that is about all i know.  you may have to look up on the internet for more info.

I have found "alot" of '66's compared to the '67's! I know of 2-3 more '66 Grandes in a friends yard that I have to ask to take pics of. But no '67's? Why??

I don't recall ever seeing many Grande parisiennes in my life time and I was around when they were new. I have seen more '7's than '66's by far - just the opposite of what was posted earlier but I have not even seen many 67's. Frankly, I would sooner have a Parisienne 4 door hardtop than what I have - it's a sentiMENTAL thing. Back in 1971 or 72, my dad had the loan of a '66 parisienne 4 door hardtop for a couple of days and I got to drive it. WOW!! Was I ever impressed. That car was Cypress Green Metallic I am guessing because it was a very dark metallic green with a black vinyl top and interior. It must have been a low mileage car ( I don't recall the mileage ) because everything was super snug and tight - just like a new car and it drove like a dream! Needless to say I was hooked and in love but despite my best efforts at persuading my dad to buy the car, he took it back but you guys know how it is - one smitten, the love never leaves your heart.
The Grande Parisienne that I have was driving around town here when I came here to live in '72 as I recall seeing it sitting in front of the now defunct Co-op store here in Oliver. I don't know if I had ever noticed a Grande Parisienne before at any time ( probably did but not one that I can recall ) and I really liked the grille treatment with the park lights in the grille inserts. I watched the car after that for a few years until it disappeared but I often wondered where it went.
I used to haul cars home for recycling and one day someone told me that his dad had an old Pontiac that they wanted hauled away. When I drove into the yard where the car was, I could not believe my eyes - it was the Grande Parisienne that I had been watching until it vanished. Of course, they had removed the 327 and the automatic and some one had tried to pry the "Grande" emblems off the fenders and broken all three of them. They had also removed the Grande Parisienne smblems off the door panels but no other harm was done to the car. I tried repeatedly to buy the original l327 but never had any luck - they were keeping it "for a project" - a project that never happened because one day when I asked ( again! ) about them selling me the drive train from the Pontiac, I was informed that they had already sold it. So, it has sat here for a number if years awaiting some love and attention. Although it is solid, the seats are bad now and need to be recovered and it needs a really good cleaning inside. I am in the midst of a major clean up here at his time but the Pontiac is near the top of my list of "things to do and projects to work on" as soon as the clean up is done. That will likely be next year as I have over 300 cars and trucks to deal with - to sell off and/or crush failing  my being able to sell them. Lots of good projects - just so little time in a day. I have a parts car for a donor for the power train and other goodies ( a '67 ) so it's just a matter of pulling the two of them into the shop and getting busy.
So the car's future isn't too bleak as it has escaped the crusher and I'd sell it before crushing it. It isn't really what I want but it will do I guess. If I do decide to sell it, I'll post it for sale on this site first if I can not find a local buyer.

Your situation mirrors mine. I too have accumulated over three hundred cars over the years, mostly bought with big plans in mind. It's time to start thinning out the field of dreams. I can help you with what you need if you can't find anything closer to you. Theres a couple of 59 Caminos resting in the rows here too, one of which was a 348 car as well.
