Painting Calipers

Has anyone painted their calipers? I am doing the brakes this weekend, while I have the car apart I thought about painting the calipers.

I used laquerspray and the wheels stank to high-heaven!  Be sure to stay away from the areas where a lot of heat is generated!

I use an engine paint and after sanding it down ...I use a tack cloth, before painting. I sometimes use a lighter when I'm spraying to bake it on. Be careful ...no hand hair

From a veteran of doing calipers - first clean them liberally with brake cleaner.  Then if they need any sanding do it then although a sand blaster is the easiest method.  Prep with paint thinner and then use caliper paint, not engine paint.  Caliper paint is actually rated at a lot higher temp than engine paint as believe it or not calipers get much hotter in use that the surface of the engine block.  Use at least three light coats to get good coverage and don't bother with any clear coat on top, it won't stick well and what does will start to discolour quickly.

Which of the non-running fleet is getting the beauty treatment?

Fixing the Convertible. Got the rotors and pads, thought I'd do this at the same time.

El C is back on the road, bad ignition switch.

Still waiting on the Trans. for the Fastback...
