Its good to here that you are realy haveing fun with your car. That what this hobby is all about. She looks good to me. You should see what my son came home with. I call it the Swiss cheese car .67 camaro with rust on every panel, but he loves it.
The Plan - Keep it running and enjoy cruising around top-down.
The Dream - Have it looking good in time for my daughters high school graduation. She's in grade 5 now, but seeing as I'm not really mechanically inclined, it'll still be quite a challenge. My goal was to do one project every year. So two years ago when I (re)bought it, I had the front seat redone. (It was all torn up and had an old seat cover overtop for the last 20 years) Last year, I removed the ash tray and slipped in a CD player. It fits quite nice, and that way I didn't have to tear up the dash. The car is so rusted on the outside, I feel bad about molesting a nice dash. Every panel on this car (except the hood) has either rust or dings. So next was supposed to be the body work. I know nothing about body work. A friend (the guy I bought the car from) gave me a good trunk lid, as mine has a ding. The winter project was supposed to be - remove 4 bolts - swap lids - replace 4 bolts. Sounds so easy, but I just haven't gotten to it. I think starting on it (it, being fixing the body) is intimidating me....
Maybe this summer I'll finally try swapping lids and take it to a shop for an estimate on the body work. But those rear quarters are so far gone, I think they're probably beyond hope.
Just drive and enjoy the top down for now. Don't sweat the body work. Afterall it's an old car and they are allowed to rust to the door handles in Canada!
