There was a link on one of the topics on here to a site that guts old radios and updates them to modern units with plugs for subs etc, leaving the original appearance at a cost around $400. I thought it was on the topic of "For all you cats with AM" but couldn't find it.....
The dash bezel on the 65 is slightly smaller than the 66 so it won't fit. I can convert your am radio if you have one to sound the same as these radios. It still looks the same and it in the original case but has the same board as this radio. The cost is $399 plus shipping. Give me a call at 215-547-7145. Thanks Mike.

Hope it helps.. I'm thinking of doing the same thing.
One outfit that does it in the Vancouver area is called woodradio.com. I think they may have changed their name to vintage autosound. He's been at a few car shows and I think he was in the 4-5 hundred dollar range. Should be able to find his website, I know it was available a few months ago. Good luck.
Bought one of those Rapidrads that were mentioned on here a while ago. Just a black box with power wires, male and female antenna cords and a cord with 1/8 mini stereo plug. Hook it up to your existing AM radio, tune to 1000 on the dial, hook it up to your ipod or any mp3 player with a mini headphone or line out jack and listen to what you want over your existing AM with doing anything to it.
Works great!
