69 Parisienne BIG BLOCK CAR Chilliwack BC

Not many 396 Parisienne's out there. I've seen the 350 and 427 fender emblems on 69 B body's but never the 396 emblem. Anyone?

This one looks pretty good. CLICK HERE

if I recall, 396's in 69 B bodies were 2 barrel engines.

Yes, single exhaust rated at 265 HP, the 350 small block 4bbl was rated at 300 HP. Even so the big block had  more torque, 400 vs. 380 I recall.

Correct Clint, the 4 bbl is not original, but I'm sure a common upgrade.

Most 396s were installed in station wagons ( I had one) to give them the extra torque most wagon owners desired but still use regular gas.  A lot of people didn't want to spend the cash on premium fuel that the 427s required.

This is a very good looking car, and likely pretty rare. I once test drove a 69 2+2 ht with a 396 2 barrel engine. It was one of three Pontiacs I was looking at at the time. But I  could only buy one, and I ended up getting the 65 Parisienne convt. I remember a couple of things clearly about that car: 1. it rode and handled really well for such a big car; and 2. it had lots of power - would break the tires loose with the slightest encouragment.

I sent an email. It is being listed by the neighbor of the actual owner. The lister is on vacation and will email more photo's when he is back on the 15th. I still want to see those 396 fender emblems!

Apparently only TWO 2+2 were built with 396 and 4 speed!
