63 Acadian Convertable Trunk Chrome

Hello everyone.

I have a 63 Acadian Beaumont Convertible that had 65 tail lights and trunk chrome installed many year ago. I am just starting to pull the car apart for a re-paint and re-fresh. I have the 63 tail lights, but need the trunk chrome strip with the Acadian logo. Also need the rear side Beaumont emblems as well. Any help finding these would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone know how to tell if the car was a sport deluxe? I've searched for VIN and Cowl tag help, but no luck yet.

Thanks Russ

Welcome Russ!.

A few here may be able to help you w/ your needs but as for your deciphering and tag questions go, have you sent for your documents from GM Canada Vintage services?.
Here's the link...

About a year and a half ago, there was a fellow that posted a 63 Acadian Beaumont deck lid die cast NOS on eBay several times in a row.  I emailed him and although my car has one I offered him $200 for it.  He had listed it several times for about $350 I think.
The reply I received was from his son in law and he said his dad would rather keep it than to sell it any cheaper.  I never saw it listed again.
I had the Beaumont quarter emblems and sold them to a guy in Peru off ebay.

My 63 sport deluxe has Z03 on the bottom line of the cowl tag.  According to George at GM of Canada, that is the only validation available for the sport deluxe option in 63  In the states, the 63 Nova Super Sport had a Z on the bottom line of the cowl tag, except the SS Novas built in California, they had an X on the bottom line of the cowl tag.  Other than that you are left with only dealer paperwork to validate.

Thanks for the info!

As I suspected it's not a sport deluxe, mine does not have the Z03 anywhere on the cowl tag. The bottom line has B70 M35 T86. I assume those are the options the car came with. Not sure what they are, I'm sure the GM docs will tell me.

If you ever see that posting on ebay again, please let me know, Thanks again!

Russ

As far as I know the Beaumont emblems are the same as a 64 Acadian Beaumont. The model of your car will determine which emblem. Custom or SD.

The sd emblem is the same as the 64 Beaumont but the 64 Beaumont custom is different then the 63.

Hey Dan

Yes, I did find a very nice set of emblems, thanks for checking.

I'm still searching for a nice 63 trunk bar set though?
