Pretty sure we can make this happen if you really want.
I have a couple if we do it soon.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason though. There is a 69 Chevelle hardtop here in town. It was stone stock when he bought it, 350, TH350 and a 12 bolt.

Did it have the  F40 option ?

Explains Freds car, His has the F40 option .

Are you saying your Custom Sport has only one upper arm? It's been a long time since I was under a B body but I was sure they have two upper arms. Are you thinking of what they call the panhard bar that runs from the axle tube over to the frame maybe?

My 65 Parisienne convt with standard suspension and 283 had a 10 bolt rear and one upper control arm. My US built 68 Impala 307 had the same setup.

Ok, I must have been away from B bodies too long then!!!

I don't doubt you guys. You both seem to know your B bodies.

Same with the 3 67-68 biscayne wagons I parted, all 10 bolts, all with 4 arms.

On our way to the lake yesterday we drove past a shop that had a freshly painted 66 Grande Parisienne 2 dr ht on the yard. Of course we had to turn around and look. I had forgotten all about this thread until I started looking under the car. Looked to be the original small block, powerglide with a 12 bolt. Then it hit me! How many upper arms??? Sure enough, 2 of them.....

I still vote 2.

Anyone have a picture of a 65-70 B body with only 1 upper? Which side is it on?

Yes, that is how mine was built and I assume it was the norm.  But as I understand from research that I have done, (of course not set in stone tho...) the full size only had 2 upper arms if they had the 327 or larger, unless factory ordered with different rear end.  Mine was originally 283 with the basic or standard rear end 3:08 ratio? ... I think.....    I don't recall what my first 327-250hp CS rag in 78' had....wish I could remember....age sucks!  What is the "panhard" bar?

Rick, As we discussed, I would be glad to get one from you but I only really need the left upper control arm, if possible.   Timing is lousy for me right now, busy with work and other commitments etc,  but would the weekend of 9-10 Oct work?   The week following that I am gone to Chicago and other things....

Better, thanks!thumbsup.gif
Not a great pic, but if you look close you can see that there is no upper arm on the left side.

But that is the panhard bar.

We are talking about the upper arm, U shaped channel that runs forward and up from the diff. Unless I am looking wrong at what you have circled.

Due to the dark picture it is tough to see the upper arm.  It's directly above where the panhard bolts on.  I can try to get a shot of my own set up and post here.

This is for a 69 but still shows the left as only for heavy duty and wagons.

I am thinking that I have only ever had HD suspension cars. Is that possible?

True, a number of them have been big blocks which likely all have 2 uppers.

No, no Carl. I know what he means as I have seen the one upper arm as well.... I revamped the picture... The square boxes......... The right one with, the left one without!!!

The light duty cars had one upper on the right above the panhard bar; the HD cars had two. I installed a 4 arm 12 bolt in place of a 3 arm 10 bolt in a 68 Impala.

I see it? and still can't believe it?  My car has 12 bolt and 4 arms   WHY would they even bother to make a 3?  paper work alone would ruin cost saving   unbelievable...disbelief

Carl, what rear end and suspension (F40, or....?) did your car have originally?
