engine power


put new plugs in 2 sets it helped a bit. now when its idling it very quit with no roughness. as soon as i take it out on the road and push on gas it does the same thing but not as bad its a lot faster and doesn't shake as much but the roughness is still there. any more ideas i can try

How old are your spark plug wires ?  I usualy do a continuity test to see if there are any breaks in the wires with my multimeter.

Could it bit a leak in your brake booster ? I have a similar problem only mine idles a bit rough and  I think I have a small leak in the booster.

I would do a step by step run through, one item at a time among the thins it could be starting with ignition, then moving on to the fuel system. If you don't have one I'd suggest getting a vacuum gauge; they are cheap at Canadian Tire, NAPA, etc.

today i put in another new set of plugs new wires and new dis. cap a bit better but saome problem.

I had a similar problem. Check your ignition wire right up to the fuse panel. Mine was melted and just barely hanging on. Put in a new wire and got rid of the problem completely.

yes all banks from 2 to 8 is 150
odd banks 1and 5 is 149 banks 3 and 7 is 150
thats pretty good comp.

found my problem missing one gasket under carb there was 2 should be three spent a lot of money on this problem a lesson well learnt

Glad you found the problem, troubleshooting and be time consuming and hair pulling not to mention the money we sometime throw out the window ... been there done that.
