It's the model, a 1966 Beaumont Convertible, I believe.

I just looked in my parts manuals.
The number does not appear in my Acadian 1962-71 or my 1965-72 Pontiac books.

I knew that they were the model # for a 66 Beau conv, I guess I worded my question wrongly , someone contacted me who has this car,and they want to know what size motor it would have had. I don"t know any way of telling this without documentation. I guess I should have asked if I am right in that assumption.

A 73267 would be a V8 regular model convertible.

Thanks just told him he would have to get it documented to find out what size the motor was!

That one should be easy.

We know it's a V8 car.

If the fuel line from the tank to engine is 5/16", it's a 283.

If it's 3/8", it's a 327.

We know it can't be a 396 because it's not a model 736.

Stick around, it gets better some times!

I am basing all the above on what I have seen over the years.  One thing I have learned from this site is I have a lot more to learn!

Well I got a 67 Beaumont I think I know what I have but I thought I would confirm it. I looked on my firewall and this is what I got, I have no clue what it means. This looks like a great site with lots of information.

Style 73617 1-2-22
Body #08 837262

I believe its a 67, Custom with a 283

Any info on this would be great I have had the car 17 years now. On a side note I have a 66 beaumont 2dr hardtop in the bush and its for sale if anyone is looking.

I''l try and help you decode it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

73617 = Beaumont Custom 8 cyl Two door hardtop
1-2-22 = production date of car body day shift of Feb 22, 1967
Body# = factory body order #

There should be some other number below the body number too.

Here's a useful link for decoding

Yes, more info off the cowl (firewall) tag would help.

You do not need to worry about posting that info here. I wouldn't advise posting a complete VIN though.

No it must be NN as it does have a maroon bench in it.

Everything still looks to original on the car, 283 motor, 2sp power glide, maroon exterior and interior with a bench...

Thanks Any ideas on what production was on these custom 2dr hard tops?

Some interesting facts I found but not sure if its true.

Quote It is also one of only 3452 produced that model and year. (custom) Quote
