Since when has there been a "donate" button? Last I had seen the "boss" was still refusing cash donations???

I have to say Todd, I'm glad you've seen the light. Hopefully with enough donations you will not get tired (and poorer) because of your efforts here. I always had it in the back of my head that one day you would say "enough of this, I make no money on it and it's tiring me out."

I was reluctant to do so however the current crunch on the CP bank account warranted this. I needed to order more business cards and had to use my credit card to do so as the account didn't have enough. I found a cheaper supplier online so there was some savings. The new t-shirt sales should help as well.

Thanks to those of you who have donated. I really appreciate it!

To put it simply without putting a price on my time, I'd say I've spent about $4000 on the site since inception.

Todd, if this puts you on the spot, just say so.

Have you ever spelled out for us here what it costs to keep this place alive? That may well help people understand the need to make a contribution from time to time.

how about a yearly voluntary 'membership fee' similar to the SYC site?

I thought of that however I fear that with memberships come high expectations. You'd be amazed at the PM's I get already from members demanding this be done or that be changed! I don't want the hassles. I'm still not 100% comfortable with donations. That's why I didn't advertise the fact we had a donation button.

i have no idea what it costs to run something like this, but it cant be cheap

Seriously, the forums I see working the best allow voluntary donations. The forums I seldom use, I seldom donate to, the ones I use sometimes, I donate sometimes and so on. You get the drift. Who cares if some do, some don't as long as you get enough $$$ to keep this place going and us addicts happy!
