I've heard several good reports just lately on the little electronic screamers to keep mice out, so I'm buying a few of these !!

Have to agree with elroy about the screamers. I dont have any myself but a friend has a few high end rides and they have those in the shop and not even a sighting of a mouse

No question a good feline friend on patrol is the best method. Keeps them sharp and they love doing it too.

Thers's nothing foolproof Tiny.

If the shed that the bike will be in is not sealed up, they'll probably be poking around. Just bring your seats in the house and remove any nesting material that might be in the vicinity. They may try to nest in the nooks of your bike if they can bring some material into those enclosed spots. Remove any side covers, bags etc. Try to not let them have a spot to build a tight nest in.
Just be sure to have a good look and poke around in the spring before you start your bike up.

Just last week I pulled my snowblower out of my small shed to check it out, When I moved it, a stream of shavings and dust started flowing out from the carb shroud area. Sure enough, the entire shroud area was stuffed full of fiber from a poly tarp that was stored on top of the blower. Two dead mice and it reaked of mice piss, and everything metal was corroded from it. The buggers are pretty resourcefull and will use anything they can shred as a nest.

So I'd say... keep the shed clean of anything they can shred.

Mice cost me forty thousand dollars. I will explain......

We used to store our 3 small tractors in an old wooden shed away from the house. Twice the bigger tractor had to be "split" to change the clutch because they got in there, built nests in the pressure plate area, peed in it and the pressure plate rusted up. Then on the smaller tractors they chewed up a whole whack of wiring and built nests and peed in there, behind the dash.

This is why it cost us so much. Problem solved.
