Great looking 64, has that old school drag look. That Z28 was one cool looking drag car. Would be nice to have that one back. My freind has a old drag car also, was a 69 pace car convertible that was campained as little stinker.

Umm, the Little Stinker is somewhat famous in these parts...

Is that Al B?

He sold it to my freind years ago and still has it, I think is a NHRA record holder. This would have been Al's last stinker car the ones before were the chevelles.  The car has never seen the street is still in the last  colour combo that he used. Went from black with the white stripe to a white and orange 70's scheem.

thanks for the compliments, I hope to have it out this spring, more pics with some detail.

the car was built for racing , I 've never ran it , that's the way I bougth it.

from what I can tell 327 , camel bumps , screw in studs, Crane mechanical cam, fender wheel headers. posi diff.

came with the cool mailbox hood scoop, 15 x 10 and 15 x 3 1/2 cragars, and slightly radiused wheel wells.

all in all , a real solid car.

I've collected a correct console and fullsize buckets for it,,,when iI get there !!

Do I see right? Is that a big old 4 core rad from a 69 or older GM product?

That is very nice.  I've never seen a 64 before.  I thought someone told me that the 64 didn't have the fender spears?  If I'm seeing it correctly, the front is identical to my 63 except there appears to be a windsplit trim in the center of the hood.  Other than that the grille, fenders and hood emblem seem to be the same.  I think that side trim is just like Steve's 63 wagon, not sure.
I sure would like to see some more pictures when you start to get it ready to drive.

my 63 Acadian hardtop ...updated!

I had originally thought it was a 63 when I first got it, but after I registered the vin , found out it was a 64 . I'm not aware of the year to year differences?
the wind split was cut off at the hood scoop, but would have run the length of the hood ,,it appears.

Looks like the grumpy Jenkins style scoop but they had the opening to the back.

there is a 64 canso in jacksons. not much left on it. the insert in the trim had a raised runner just like the trim on norms 63, the insert in mine has the appearance of being etched

checking the part catalogue.
insert on my 63 beaumont - 63 only
insert on 63 canso super sport and 64 canso same part number
no fender spears on 64
63 has no hood spear.
invader both 63 and 64 no filler panel
63 canso no filler panel

how long have you had the car. looks like 63 beaumont trim added to a 64. what is the script on the rear quarters?

not trying to be critical just trying to decode these 45 year old mysteries

Rabbit,  I love the look with the tunnel ram, scoop, 2x4's, cragers...

These scanned images might help on the year.

'63 Beaumont
Misc 2560.jpg

'64 Canso
Misc 2561.jpg

Your side trim and front fender ornaments look '63.
Notice the thicker part of the '63 side trim is longer, it runs back to the edge of the door like yours.
Also, my parts catalogue says there were no front fender emblems in '64.
Are the rear quarter emblems Canso or Beaumont?

Misc 2562.jpg

Does your serial # start with a 3 or 4?  3 is '63  4 is '64

Regardless of year, very cool car!

here are some more detailed pics of the trim, not sure it it's ever ben repainted ?  the insert is engine turned finish, says Beaumont on the 1/4.

Is that the original rear?? it use a P case 55 - 64 style member??  5 bolt all around?

RE: my 63 Acadian hardtop ...updated!

OK,,thanks for getting me to dig into this,,, once I get something in my head...wrong or right,,,,that's how it stays.

IT IS a 63 ,,vin is 384370XXXX

who knows how many pieces where changed in it's early life. I've been told it used to race out at Lanigan SK. when they had a track back in the late 70's

terrible and as good as it is ...I've not touched a thing on it , other than taking the Cragars off so the tires didn't dry rot too bad. pushed into that old grainery on the farm 12 years ago.

It's Acadian for '63 -- the Canadian car built for Canadians. And Acadian has an all-new Canso series this year. Add that to proven favorites, Beaumont and Invader, and you've got the happiest sixty - threesome on the road. There's a wide choice of 9 models plus the new Beaumont Sport Deluxe models. And there's a rainbow of colors to choose from, a host of power options, and interiors so beautifully appointed you'd think they came from more expensive cars. But, that's Acadian for you.
Beaumont Sport Deluxe Sport Coupe

A sport of special sorts The Beaumont Sport Deluxe Sport Coupe offers luxury sports driving at minimum cost. There are six rich interior colors to choose from - Aqua, Red, Blue, Fawn, Black and Saddle - in long lasting vinyl. There's foam padding in both front and rear seats as well as a fully carpeted floor, front and rear. Chrome intrument knobs, deluxe two-tone steering wheel, glove box light, and deluxe door handles are just a few more of the extras with the Beaumont Sport Deluxe Sport Coupe.
1963

so,,how do you tell if your car is a Sports Deluxe,,,vin doesn't do it ?? or does it??
