Long drive ahead of me

Leaving southern Ontario for Miami 5am Christmas morning. I would be up for the long drive if I was going to look at a car or some car parts but this trip will take me to a boat that will go around some Islands for a week. I`d rather stay on the main land and tour wrecking yards. This is my wifes gift to me for 25 years of marriage. Hope they have internet on the boat so I can get my Canadian Poncho fix.

I could have written every word of that Kevin! My advice to you? Sit back and enjoy it. Obviously she is very special or you two wouldn't have been married for 25 years. It is clear that a week with you will make her happy. You can't put a price on a happy wife! Enjoy.

Just roll with it and you may end up enjoying yourself. I had a lot of apprehension about going to the Caymans (no-not because I was getting married) and now I wish I had of traveled to a place like that years ago!

Well enjoy. I found out that when I am on those boats in the Caribbean they take pretty good care of me and I can't actually remember talking much about cars while I'm there. There are so many other good attractions to me each cruise is like another honeymoon. Have fun.

We are heading to Florida on Dec. 30. For us it will be an 1800 mile drive. I am looking forward to it as we will be bringing a pickup load of stuff to get our new to us winter home set up. We took possession of it on Dec 16. after making the initial offer in Nov. when we went to Largo  for 3 weeks. When we sold our cottage this summer our intent was to buy something in the south and we settled on a double wide mobile home in a beautiful 55 + park in Largo 26 miles south of Tampa. The place is called Palm Hill Country Club. Once my wife retires in about 4 years we will be snowbirds spending the winters in Florida. I will try to hook up with Dave who lives a couple of hours south in Fort Meyers.

I hate to to say this especially here, but there are other great things in life besides Canadian Ponchos.  My wife dragged me on a Europe tour a while ago and boy it sure does put a lot of stuff in perspective. (like a 45 year old car or wife is really not that old!)

My wife and I will be in North Ft Myers, on Hwy 41, across from the shell factory.
Look us up while in the area.  I'm hoping to meet dave this year myself.
Wife and I are both retired so we are official snow birds.
Drive safe,  Norm & Candy Hallett
