Acadian cowl tags/firewall painting

This is the cowl tag on my 65. When I repainted the firewall I did my utmost to redo the same ugly job GM did in 65 when they half covered it before they painted the firewall at the factory!

Personally I think it's an awful appearing thing, but that is how they all are!

This is a picture of my 62 firewall, never been repainted.  It appears the process for painting the firewall was the same.  It is a little hard to see the data plate but it does appear to be identical to yours.
Also, notice the sticker above the air cleaner, center top of the firewall.  This sticker says the car is equipped for cold weather and no parts should be replaced without contacting the parts department first.
We have always thought this refers to an engine block heater but not confirmed.  I also have never seen another car with this sticker on the firewall.  Of course, I'm not in Canada so I'm sure there are many things I have not seen or been aware of on cars built in Oshawa.
Anyone on the site seen this cold weather sticker before?
Thanks, Norm

Carl,  Thats nothing!

This is my alltime favorite on my uncles 58 chevy
When it was restored i made sure to Duplicate the exact same "MASKING" that they did at the factory.........must have been the end of a role!

They totally missed the tag alltogether.

Yes, the rusty area is the original bare metal, that has never been painted over

Hilarious......but restored to correct standards.

Haha, that is great! A one year old could have done better than that!!! Must have been a very lazy or bitter employee on the line!
