Grille restoration

Anyone had a grille (65) completely restored? From a shop, or an individual?. I have a pretty decent one, but am thinking about doing the full resto.

I had my 64 grill done. Not to bad a job but $$$$$ as it is POT METAL. Double usual.
Pacific Plating Vancouver. Not everyone will do POT METAL.

I am in the process of restoring my '65 grille right now. Most of the original black paint is chipped off but the chrome looks decent. I am not going to replate it as the existing chrome is very good, but will repaint the black sections and argent silver inside surround. Stripping the olf black paint off is very tedious work and will take hours, but the result should be well worth it. I will post pics once I finish the project.

Edit - Didnt see that the original post was 4 years old. Oh well, here are some of my pics anyway.

I am half way done. It is a pretty time consumuing process but well worth it! Luckily the chrome was ok with mine. I am very happy with the outcome so far.

I probably have 20-25 hours into the passengers side grille, although now that I know what I am doing, the drivers side shouldn't take as long. I was able to strip all of the old paint, wash and prep for masking last night. Will post pics once I finish it, but probably won't be until next week.

Finally got the driver's side completed. Just need to finish the ACADIAN emblem and ACADIAN badge, and polish the chrome!

Then it is time for the trunk panel!

There was a great article in a magazine a couple of years ago in which they described the process of redoing a GTO grille. Looking back, I wish I would have picked it up...
