You would have to have a lot of time on your hands, but is interesting to gawk at. Looks like someones bailing out for cheap.

Now this is a deal for someone doing another 58. You keep what you need and part out the rest and get your money back. The 327 depends on which one it is for value.

I went and saw that car last year. It needs a lot of work, but I really have a soft spot for 58's and the guy seems like a good guy to deal with.

If I sell the 65' quickly, maybe I will pick that up. It needs a ton of work but IIRC he has all the parts for it.

Looks like a fun project to me.  Two door sedan is neat.  Seams to have most of the replacement sheet metal and a frame. You would get a lot of practice on the welder LoL.

It would be a fun project.

The only downside is that the owner cut out the rockers and front pans IIRC so you would have to complete that before you swapped frames. I remember it having some rust issues around the rear window also.

I emailed the guy again since I have been wanting a 58'.

Anyone want a 65' Impala cheap?

I looked at this as well last fall, as Rick says it needs alot of work & that's an "understatement" what your buying is the engine & he's "throwing "in the car. Trunk was non existant & I think he said it's Pontiac only for that one year. He did have a pile of parts for it, BUT will be hard to put back together after someone else has taken it down to the "bare bones"

I want the car without the engine - I think I could put it together. But It would have to be a pretty cheap price, and I have to get rid of the impala.

Well I'm glad somebody had the "stones" to take on the project!!  I was thinking of calling him back & see if he'd sell the engine alone???

Lol - The impala is gone...

Is the car going back together? It did need a lot of work, but I have brought back much worse. My 55' chev was far worse, but at least there is a strong aftermarket for parts. I would probably just put it on a later perimeter frame. IIRC the late caprice wheelbase is close in both wheelbase and track width. I think its an inch shorter stock - just get longer aftermarket rear control arms.

To be honest I would not have ever started the car in that shape. With bad interior,  floors, trunk floors, frame, ect it is quite the project. but since the car is now all there I will probably start soon. All I need is trunk floor pan and quarter panel bottoms.
