Pulled trans, now no start

Need help pls. I have a 1970 Pontiac Strato Chief, i pulled the trans this week, Th400, installed B&M kit, TCI converrtor, and TCI flexplate, reinstalled everything and now it won't start, rolsl over, but pops through carb bad, it will somewhat fire but feels liek it's running on 5 with foot to the floor. It really feels like the timing is way way out to lunch. I never went under the hood at all, didn't touch anything i can remember. So now im lost, 350sbc by the way. Stone stock until i figure this ot. HELP!!!!!? thanks
Dave

Probably moved the distributor when hooking up the top transmission bolts, or maybe cracked the distributor cap?

Bit of a long shot but you didn't happen to pinch the distributor wire between the engine and the trans housing did you? I'm not sure if it is long enough and that likely wouldn't do it.

As suggested above, maybe the cap is damaged or moved. On that car if you drop the trans can the engine drop back enough to have the cap push against the firewall?

Oh, and welcome here!!!

Turns out the dist moved against the firewall, would have sworn it was tight, but alas...i was wrong.....loosed up hold down, turned and voila. Works mint,  launches of the convertor with a stone stock 350 is pretty funny....so tonight comes engine tear down, then on go heads, cam, intake, carb, headers.........yipieeeee....
