Thoughts on repairing dents in dog dish hub caps?

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on the best method to repairs dents in dog dish hub caps?  Should one use a ballpeen hammer and a piece of soft wood?  Maybe hardwood?  A brass hammer?   Perhaps there are trades such as Tinsmiths that are recommended?  Any expertise would be appreciated.

Let me know how it goes. I seem to keep missing the good sets. My 64-65 set will have to do.

I've never tried this, but I've heard it works for removing small dents such as hail damage, etc...

Heat up the dented area with a hair dryer or heat gun (not so much to discolour the metal, of course) and then immediately apply ice to the area.  I've heard that the rapid heating/cooling cycle will sometimes return the metal to its original shape if it hasn't been stretched or creased.

Might be worth a try? smile
