Nice truck !.... My wifes truck is also a 60 GMC.

Her favorite motto is " Silly boys... trucks are for girls! "

Are you keeping it original , or going to modify it a bit ?

60 - 66 GMCs are my favourites.
Are you keeping the straight 6?

Here's a great website you already might know about:

I am keeping the straight 6;absolutley love them! Will be hooking up a turbo 350 tranny to it so must order an adaptor. Then we noticed that there may be a problem lowering the torsion bars with where the 350 sits. As soon as the frame comes back we are going to do a mock up and see. Anyone done that before?

Hoping to have the truck road ready by the end of summer at the latest, if it takes longer than next spring for sure.

Congratulations, it's looking really, really good!
Unfornutately for me, there aren't GMC trucks of that era here in Brazil, only Chevys...

Great truck I had a 65 years ago sold it for $300 the guy never did any thing with it he told me I could have it back for $500. Still thinking about it as it has never been plated and is still in my name. If thing are still the same as years ago I don't think it would need a safety

i just put a v8/ 350 turbo im my 1960, it went in fine,

had to heat up the nuts with a torch to get them to turn, but

the torsion bars were easy to get at to ajust and it worked just fine

Have you tried one of those file recovery utilities for recovering your photos? Unless you've written over the files, it's amazing what the utilities can recover off a hard drive - even a damaged one.

Nice work on the GMC - looking good!

Of course I've got one of these trucks and absolutely love it! Still got the original 235 Thriftmaster
in it with a 4-spd. tranny that has "BULL-LO" It also has a 9' box on it. I've been toying with putting a 350 in it with an automatic transmission but will likely leave it for awhile and concentrate on the bodywork instead this year. Absolutely HATE when people take the "eyebrow" hoods off and put a '62-'66 hood on instead! It's the hoods that give them the character; at least in my humble opinion! Great work Tiffany! Great photos too!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Glad to know the 350 works in there cause I was a little nervous about that.

My computer guy had taken all the photos he could recover onto a usb stick and lots kinda got a little messed up or cut in half. My dad was saying he has lots of the build on his computer as well so there is hope. hehe

I love the big ugly hood! It has character and thats what made me fall for it.

So I had gotten a deal that I couldnt turn down to get my chassis sandblasted and put into primer. I brought it back home yesterday and couldnt stop staringeyepopping.gif (This is my very first frame off)

Love those big hoods as well.  Had a couple, one was a 1/2 ton panel....shoulda never sold it. Also had a couple 62's, one stepside and 1 fleetside. All were 6cyl standards.. Heres a couple pics...
Your truck is slowly coming along,  Keep up the updates, we love to see pics.

WOW! Your frame looks FAB Tiff!!! Makes me want to go out right now and rip my front end, cab
and box off and get going on mine! I'm just in the process of amassing parts for it right now. I want to have everything here and ready before dismantling anything. That way, it won't be off the
road too long before it's all done up and ready to rock 'n roll once more! Keep us posted with your progress photos as you get things done eh?

Just waiting for the doc to give me the ok you can work on your truck again after my shoulder was dislocated by my horse. also the race truck/car has been in the shop getting painted and all ready for her debut at penticton for the long weekend.

Sorry to hear you dislocated your shoulder!  YIKES!  I guess horsepower of any kind can be kinda painful at times eh?  Do you race the race truck/car yourself?  Wouldn't surprise me if you did given what you've written about yourself.  Can hardly wait to see the pics of your '60 again as it comes along.  Hope you're back in commission soon
Tiffany!  At times, the pain we have not being able to do anything is worse than the actual pain from an accident or infliction of some kind!

WOW...that's a really cool piece!.
It looks it's a '68 but if not it's nice to see you're running the 67/68 slantback hood...probably good for an extra 5 Mph over the 69-72 hoods!.
